Free Music Review: Their first consistently great album

Front to back there's not a weak track. Overall, this is their best album before they went mega with KICK. LISTEN LIKE THIEVES had two good songs and one killer ("What You Need") but the rest of the album didn't click. Their earliest albums are kind of limp save for a few choice exceptions. But THE SWING is a party and holds up very well today - that is, if you go for top-notch New Wave dance music. This stuff is so infectious. The sound is crisp with high highs and low lows. One of the catchiest, most fun synth-pop-rock albums of the 80's.
