I can't bring myself to say it's dissapointing, because I think I just set my standards too high for Ian Van Dahl (which is actually pronounced like "John Doe" in Belgium where Erik and Christophe, the two guys behind it, live). With the exception of tracks 1, 2, and 9, this is really just faceless techno. It sounds much like other mediocrity you hear on electronic music stations all the time. And just so you don't get excited on accident, the 'special version' of Castles in the Sky is simply a way of getting out of putting Marsha's name on the cover of this CD. You see, if they had a single song on this CD that featured Marsha, the Ian Van Dahl crew would have to make the album's title 'Ian Van Dahl (featuring Marsha) - Ace.' And that would be kind of dumb if she was only going to be on one track, but they would have to include her in the title anyway. So instead they got their normal singer Annemie Coenen (whose style really isn't fit for Castles in the Sky) to sing it. But after all that, don't worry. They were able to make a bonus disk and put the original track on it, along with an interesting video of the awsome hit 'Will I' to top it off. So overall, a great CD for trance/techno fans everywhere.
