Free Music Review: Long Missed Cuban Music Hit: 5 Stars
It is a true shame that we in the United States have not had the opportunity to tap Cuba's musical talent more than we have. Ibrahim Ferrer is a gem that has for too long gone unseen and unheard -- with this album, he emerges onto the US music scene. From the uptempo "Marieta" to the more touching "Silencio" to the wistfully reflective "Como Fue", Ferrer shows an unparalleled musical touch and sensitivity. This album displays excellence from start to finish and is a can't miss selection.
Free Music Review: Ibrahim Ferrer sings his heart out. Hit: 5 Stars
Ibrahim Ferrer's solo album is perfectly produced. Topping the original "Buena Vista Social Club," producer Ry Cooder has delivered another special ode to once-forgotton Cuban singers and musicians. Not only do Ferrer and his friends _ Ruben Gonzalez, Omara Portuondo, Eliades Ochoa and Barbarito Torres _ shine in this album but the sound should share star billing. Listen to the horns blend in with the voices and instruments. It's an incredible sound.

Free Music Review: A wonderful recording for any music lover.... Hit: 5 Stars
I bought this one the moment it came out and have been listening to it quite often. The music on this follow-up to "Buena Vista Social Club" is more lush, stylish and sexy than that of its predecessor. String arrangements and female back-up vocalists populate many of the tracks to sensational effect. If you enjoyed the original BVSC or any of the spin-off solo recordings, you will certainly find much to enjoy here. Highly recommended.
