Free Music Review: Iggy with special friend Bowie
Hit: 4 Stars

As for me, Iggy is one of the best Rock musicians. Then he has special and selected records. This is one of them. It's from the time Iggy and David Bowie spent living in Germany trying to solve any drug's troubles, as I been told. Well, in any way, David helped Iggy with this record (the record is produced by Bowie) and is a very special record (as I said before), sometimes a little bit depressing, but, at the same time Iggy is well inspired. By this time, as I've been told, Bowie was working in "Low" (also very special record from Bowie).

Free Music Review: It's in the white of my 4 Stars

Iggy Pop's The Idiot is one amazing Cd. Sister Midnight, Nightclubbing, Funtime, Baby, and Dum Dum Boys are some really killer songs. But I'd have to say China Girl is my favorite off this one, because Iggy sings it with his heart and soul. It's too bad Bowie ruined China Girl, its a really good song. I'd say this one is about equal in quality with Lust For Life.

Free Music Review: if it's good enough for Ian Curtis, it's good enough for you
Hit: 4 Stars

This album is the infamous soundtrack to Ian Curtis's suicide, a testament to how good this dark pop album is. This album, along with Lust for life, are the only two Iggy Pop solo albums that truly tapped into the full potential of Iggy as an adventurous singer. Perhaps it's time for Iggy to do another collaboration with David Bowie.

Free Music Review: Reissue Please!
Hit: 4 Stars

This is a genius album, but the packaging on this Virgin reissue is an insult.

Free Music Review: A new Iggy Pop emerges
Hit: 3 Stars

The Idiot, the solo debut of Iggy Pop presents a very different version of Pop. Out of rehab for an addiction to heroine, Pop was removed from the mischievous, snarling backdrop of his hometown of Detroit and the fast, loud, vicious, buzzsawing sound of his old band, the Stooges and placed in the dark and tragic world of Berlin, before the fall of Communism, with production from the clean, studio wizardry of the darkly-laced, androgynous, rock star extraordinaire, David Bowie, the Idiot produced a darker, more vampiric Iggy Pop. Like Bowie, Pop, from the start of his career to today, is primarily known for his personas, more than his instrumental or lyrical skills and this album is a drastic change in musical character for man who started his career, screaming, yelling and rolling around in raw meat and broken glass all in the name of rock and roll. Songs such as the politically devious China Girl; the Oedipal Sister Midnight and Nightclubbing, a party song with an ambiguously murk, show Iggy Pop as a character shrouded in darkness amidst a clean, electronic wash of sound, resembling Bowie's last album, Station to Station. While it's not as well-executed and as seemingly natural as most of Bowie's changes in musical character, the Idiot is a value second insight to the rock star know as Iggy Pop.
