Free Music Review: Encore DVD - spectacular

I haven't purchased ANCORA yet; but did purchase the ENCORE DVD.
Everyone who loves Il DIVO should see this DVD before they purchase future CDs. It is so beautiful and shows us the 'purpose' of IL DIVO. Interviews with Simon and why he had the desire to create this group. Interviews with each young man of IL DIVO. A wonderful way to understand each one's background and what he brings to this group. And beautiful renditions of the music on ANCORA. I,too, wish they sang more in English; and I think that will come, in time; but to actually see them on video, performing each piece, will give the CD much more meaning for me.
I believe Simon Cowell knew what he was doing when he created IL DIVO. Their upcoming tour in February will tell the tale.

i really liked this cd, but the last one was better. i like urs' voice a lot. i can't wait til the next full album comes out!
I don't like the way David Miller sings. He has a high, shaky voice. it's sweet and nice, but when he reaches for the high notes, it really sounds unstable - like a struggle and they always seem to give him the higher register. It's really annoying. The baritone is good, but can be overpowering at times. Sebastien is good, but his voice is nothing out of the ordinary. There are hundreds of pop singers who have equally nice voices. Urs is my favourite, except he needs to enunciate more and mostly only sings the operatic parts. they don't give him enough to sing! His voice is really one in a million.

I am a huge fan of Il Divo, and this CD is amazing. I'm 16 and every one of my friends who has heard me listening to them thinks they're awesome too. I believe their pop feel could broaden their audience. The first album and chirstmas collection are worn out from me listening to them so much, Ancora came just in time for a new array of amazing songs with the 4 most amazing voices I've ever heard. My favorites so far are:

Christmas Collection- Oh Holy Night
Ancora- Por Que Tu M'Aimes Encore
I even got my copy of Ancora signed by Carlos, David , Seb, and David at Borders in NYC. I can't wait for Feb. 10 to go to the concert!

HAVING READ SOME OF THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS GIVEN TO THIS MOST RECENT CD BY THE GROUP IL DIVO I COULD ONLY WONDER IF THESE INDIVIDUALS WERE HOPELESSLY DEAF OR OTHERWISE SUCH SELF ABSORBED SNOBS THAT THEY COULD NOT ENJOY A DRAMATIC WELL DONE ALBUM. REALLY NOW MUST WE OVER ANALYZE EVERYTHING AND NOT SIMPLY ENJOY THE SHEAR BEAUTY IN EACH OF THESE WELL SUNG NUMBERS. I FOR ONE INITIALLY THOUGHT THAT THIS GROUP MANUFACTURED AS IT WAS COULD NOT POSSIBLY BE GOOD, BUT NOW MUST ADMIT I WAS WRONG. THIS CD EXPLORES EACH OF THE RESPECTIVE VOICES AND TRULY IS ENJOYABLE AND RELAXING LISTEN. BRAVO IL DIVO AND I CANT WAIT FOR THEIR NEXT ALBUM.Free Music Review: They Keep Getting Better

I'm not going to analyze this album track by track. I'm just going to say that every product they have put out is an improvement on the one before it. The voices seem richer, the harmonies blend better, the musical interpretation is outstanding.
This is not opera folks. This is a pop album. Sung by trained singers who know how to carry a tune and infuse their singing with emotion. They don't need to sing in English to get the meaning across.
If you want beautiful, romantic music, then buy this album. It only gets better the more you listen to it. They are absolutely amazing.
