Free Music Notes for Il DivoFree Music Review: Il Divo- Divine Singer (couldn't have put it better myself) Hit: 5 Stars
These four men truly are divine singers. Three(Carlos, David, Urs) have beautiful operatically trained voices. Seb, the French pop singer, adds a very warm, informal, easy-going air. This first album has much variety. From the sweet, romantic songs like Every Time I Look at You, and The Man You Love, to huge, sweeping, dramatic finales of Senza Catene, Feelings, My Way, and Regresa A Mi. Each piece is tastefully chosen and profoundly moving. Besides... the four fellas don't look so bad themselves. Ok... maybe that was an understatement. They are all very good-looking. But Urs Buhler, the Swiss tenor, *THUD*, he is a work of art... So, you have four gorgeous guys with gorgeous voices singing gorgeous pieces of music... what more could you ask for? The songs are either so romantic they're tear-jerking, or so powerful they almost leave you stunned. These four guys deserve to be the superstars they are. Five Stars.
Oh, and the standout tracks are Feelings, Every Time I Look At You, Man You Love, Senza Catene, Dentro Un Altro Si.... They're all standout!!!!!
Free Music Review: Elvis Lives! Hit: 5 Stars
Okay, I'll admit it. I'm not a huge music fan and certainly know virtually nothing about opera, and up until a couple of weeks ago, I had never even heard of Il Divo. But then one day, I was in a book store during lunch and heard an incredible song titled, "The Man You Love" playing on the in-house system and knew right away I had to find out who it was and get the CD.
Most of the music is in operatic Italian and I have no idea what they are saying, but the sound is extraordinary. What little bit of English is here makes it more than worth while for this mono-lingual listener. I can listen to this stuff all day!
I don't know which one of these guys it is, but when listening to their rendition of "My Way" I'm not kidding, one of these guys must be Elvis making a come back! The similarity in voices is striking and the way he carries out the notes almost identically to the way Elvis did is amazing. As I said, I'm not a huge music buff, but I try to buy a couple of dozen new CD's each year and this is the best I've found in a very long time.
Free Music Review: Multilingual Music Hit: 5 Stars
Four young men with extremely powerful voices provide a rich collection of English, Spanish, and Italian music that I--for one--have thoroughly enjoyed.
Some may consider the way they came together as "Il Divo" to be a cheesy revamped version of a Menudo-style boy-band endeavor, and I'll admit, it is a rather "commercialized" way of forming a singing group. I mean this group isn't the Beatles. But neither is it a Menudo remake. Personally, I could care less how they got together; after hearing their debut album, I'm just glad they did!
They come from a variety of countries, and each one brings his own strengths and talent to the group. I can certainly see "why" they were chosen. Aside from the handsome good looks (which is almost a given), the men can sing! Anyone willing to listen can see they put their hearts into the music. I'm glad they did.
Muchas Gracias para la musica, Il Divo.
Free Music Review: Il Divo Keeps Its Promise On New Release Hit: 5 Stars
Prior to receiving this CD, I was only minimally aware of Il Divo, the princes of popera. I had seen them on television several times, and knew that they had amazing voices and harmonies. When I first listened to this, I was blown away. These songs truly showcase Il Divo's incredible harmonies. The instrumentals are expertly arranged. The melodies are deceptively simple, yet compelling. Each song is full of pleasant surprises in harmonies, melodies and dynamics. If you listen, and emerge yourself in the music, you will not only be interested, you will also be lost in the music. With the exception of Amazing Grace, the songs are in Spanish. Regardless if you understand the words, the music emotes the sentiment of the song in a way that makes it easy to understand the message of the music. Songs such as "La Luna", Angelina and Amazing Grace really showcase the power, range and precision of Il Divo's voices.
Free Music Review: stupendous Hit: 5 Stars
this has got to be among the best music i have ever heard. i enjoy classical music and these young divos dont disappoint. you truly feel something when you listen to any of the selections, in fact "unbreak my heart" is even better than the original version. these are truly divos, the young lions of the opera world. the voices blend so wonderfully well together, and to hear a tenor so light and airy, with flawless diction (in any language) is truly refreshing. this is music for a romantic evening, easy listening, or whatever. the selections on this CD are excellent choices that fit each voice magnificently. i saw the ensemble on oprah with simon cowell and could hardly wait for the release date of the CD. it was well worth the wait. I would encourage anyone who loves great singing to purchase this CD. I predict these "divos" will have a long, illustrious career. Simon knows his
