Free Music Notes for Il DivoFree Music Review: I'll just call 'em JGOTB and see if it sticks. Hit: 5 Stars
This is the perfect music to listen to while in your kitchen reheating canned spaghetti in your fuzzy slippers. It just seems to fit, like listening to Dark Side Of The Moon while watching Footloose. Seriously. Also, nothing tells your sweetie "I'm gonna make you bite your pillow" more than blasting JGOTB through the speakers of your 1992 Ford Escort while on your way to Wendy's. The US recording is getting harder to find at Target, BUT, if you can still find a copy, you may want to also pick up a couple of Euro imports. Euro is short for European. One import includes the hidden track "Sono allergico ai crostacei" (which translated, means "I'm allergic to shellfish"). It ROCKS. Or, there's another import where the Fab Four belt out all-Devo covers, including a nine-language version of "Jocko Homo". To their credit, at least they're half right.
Free Music Review: I listened to the album for the first time today. Hit: 5 Stars
A friend told me about Il Divo but until today I had not heard one note of their music. On a whim, I bought the cd and listened to it at work today for the first time. Within minutes I was crying. I couldn't understand a word (And frankly was not very familiar with Toni Braxton's version so I wasn't making comparisons.) but the sheer emotion and passion of Unbreak My Heart just went right through me. After the first cut I wondered how they could top that but song after song touched me to the core. I listened to the cd over and over all day. I think, if I listened right now, I MIGHT be able to get through it without crying. I've read most of the reviews and I guess 'To each his own.'but personally I'm completely sold and already want more! My recommendation? Take a chance, you won't be sorry!
Free Music Review: An amazing find Hit: 5 Stars
I heard Il Divo perform Unchained Melody while watching The Young & The Restless and was instantly enamored by the sound of their voices. Even though I hadn't heard of them before or heard any other songs by them, I ordered the CD and once I listened, fell instantly in love with it. I've shared it with at least 5 other people who were all taken with it also. I've become discouraged with the music industry; however, felt a renewed sense of excitement having listened to Il Divo. I'm partial to foreign languages and hearing them sing in English, Italian, and Spanish was a real turn on for me. The sensuality in their tones and their expressiveness added to the audible experience. I can't wait to spend a romantic evening with this CD, a bottle of wine, and my sweetheart.
Free Music Review: Il Divo Hit: 5 Stars
I really love this CD. I bought it when I heard Simon Cowell, (a judge from American Idol) had founded the group, I'm from the UK too, so I was curious. Here are the names and nationalities of the four men.
Sébastien Izambard = France
David Miller = USA
Carlos Marin = Spain
Urs Buhler = Switzerland
If you like romantic songs, this is for you. I love all the songs, mostly sang in Italian. Even though I cannot understand the words, I'm deeply touched by their voices. I have another CD which I love, a solo singer sings the same songs, but he doesn't do it for me like Il Divo, they make my heart flutter. I saw them on the TV being interviewed, they are just typically normal young men. I would buy more of their CDs.
Free Music Review: Jan from CA Hit: 5 Stars
I absolutely love this CD. I saw this group debut on Oprah and immediately preordered the CD. I have gone on to order more for gifts. I am amazed that these 4 young (and gorgeous) artists have all come from different countries and sing so amazingly well as a group. I love the fact that the songs are sung in English, Spanish and Italian. The style reminds me of Josh Groban's first CD. My Spanish is still not fluent and I know even less Italian but even if you don't know a word of any of the languages, the beauty and sensuousness of the music comes through. The Righteous Brothers were my favorite duo growing up so I was happy to see Unchained Melody included. I automatically turn on this CD when I sit down and have yet to grow tired of hearing it everyday.
