Free Music Notes for EnigmaFree Music Review: what did you put in this?! o yeah it's Ill Nino Hit: 5 StarsFollowing all the previous albums this does not hold back from what i have heard before. This is probably one of there best efforts to date. The percussion was done very tastefully with a somewhat new vibe. This album will NOT disappoint. A true must. 5 stars hands down. great work
Free Music Review: disapointed Hit: 3 StarsMan I was really let down by this cd. there was nothing on this that blew me away. It does have SOME good songs on it, but not enough.Tracks 1,2, and 3 are good and then it goes down hill from there. Kellogs, bombs, and crackerjacks is cool and thats about it. if you want to check this band out, check out confession or one nation underground, or the first album revolution/revolucion.....
Free Music Review: Huge Disappointment Hit: 2 StarsI love Ill Nino, this is a band that has somewhat went unnoticed over the years. Their music is unique and part of what makes this band so great.
With that said, this album was a total letdown for me. I think i've patiently waited a year or so for this album (with the constant push backs). But when i finally got my hands on it, it wasn't what i expected. It is usually around this time bands change their sound, but when i listened to "Arrastra" on the EP album released before this, i believed Ill Nino's new cd would be full of songs like it. That is what they did on the 3 albums i listened to before that, so i had no reason to believe that Ill Nino would change.
But why did they? I still don't understand. Enigma sounds completely different from their previous albums. The songs bore you quickly. The thing that frustrates you is that this album is not even really a Metal cd. By the time you get to track 5 (March against me), most of the songs are completely mellow. They just sound like modern rock/pop easy listening tracks. Its not that i have a problem with that, because i enjoy every kind of music. But when you buy ill nino, you're expecting metal. And if they made this transformation, i wouldn't mind if the tracks were actually GOOD. But most of the songs sound the same and bore you completely. With 13 tracks, you would expect that they must have some hidden gems buried beneath the fillers. But it is not so. The track, "fingerpainting with the enemy" is the one song that reminded me of the Ill Nino i used to listen to before this album came out. "the alibi of tyrants" and "compulsion of virus and fever" are the only two other tracks that are decent, yet if they were on a previous ill nino album they may have been considered fillers.
I don't mind an album sounding different, but it should still sound good. There are plenty of bands that can pull it off (i.e in flames). But Ill Nino has failed in my opinion.
Free Music Review: Ill nino is awesome Hit: 5 StarsA cs pushed book for like a year...It was good not as muuch as expected it out to be but its still good
Free Music Review: Roots, dead on my friend.....Wait till the Skinlab comes out.... Hit: 4 Stars...A cool record that certainly does remind of Roots era Sepultura....glad I bought it as there's not too many bands doing the brutal approach full on, other than Skinlab....heard an advance copy of the SkinnedAlive live CD they have coming up...My god what a brutal sounding recording. I don't think anyone has released anything that heavy, live, ever.
