Free Music Notes for I'm Not ThereFree Music Review: Dylan Delights, Thanks to Heavenly Haynes! Hit: 5 Stars
As a movie reviewer and entertainment reporter, I received this CD at the press junket for the biopic, I'm Not There. It's the best swag I've gotten in years. I'm not a huge Dylan fan (I like his well-known hits, though), but these covers really open up a whole new frontier. Along with The White Stripes' "Icky Thump" and Tim Armstrong's "Poet's Life" this is by far one of the best CDs of the year.
Free Music Review: Great and Interesting Hit: 5 Stars
This album is incredibly interesting because it shows how varied Dylan's music truly is. Most of these artists are Indie but I would not have expected them to do the originals justice. Also the producers made a good choice skipping the big guns when it comes to Dylan disciples, Springsteen, Petty, Young.
The songs are very well done. Highly recommended.
Free Music Review: Worth it for one cut Hit: 5 Stars
Buy this album for one cut: the original version of "I'm Not There," performed by Dylan and members of The Band, that ends disc 2. If this were two discs of silence culminating in this song and this performance, it would still be worth every penny, plus shipping.
Free Music Review: Incredibly good Hit: 5 Stars
What a record!! The songs are not easy and perhaps many of them are not in my list, but the surprise is very good!!! Many blues much better than when performaed by own Dylan. Tombstone Blues with Ritchie Hevens is simply the best!!
Free Music Review: Brilliant collection of Dylan Covers Hit: 5 Stars
You will not be disappointed with this soundtrack. The colaborative effort put forth to create this was well worth the effort. I especially love Cat Powers' rendition. Add this to your collection!
