Free Music Review: Wonderful mixture of East and West

Manuel Iman is a very accomplished guitarist, and also an adventurous arrranger. This beautiful album is based around the idea of taking some classical Indian songs and play them in a completely unconventional style. Infusing them with elements of jazz, fusion, flamenco.

This might sound like a dubious project, but in Iman's case it's done with so much finesse and class (and humour)that it's thoroughly joyful to listen to..

And it doesn't harm to have one of the world's premier bassist, the great Abe Laboriel to anchor the music with some simple, yet potent basslines.
