Free Music Review: How is "Ellipse" relevant?
Hit: 5 Stars

I have been an Imogen fan since long ago watching and listening to her perform solo on Late Night With Letterman. The melting plasticity from all that mixing she does live - and the sounds she pulls out - it's remarkable and she's like no other. A high energy natural.
Ellipse is a canvas on which her most recently evolved designs are found. Sample them and get a feel for sailing, flying and drifting with her (and her band). One comes away experiencing the earthy flowing musical depth from her teeth and bones, hair and skin, all the moist and glistening colors inside her mind.

Free Music Review: Right on
Hit: 5 Stars

I first heard of Imogen Heap after listening to Hide and Seek from the previous album. Nothing had just hit me like that song. That's what piqued the interest in purchasing this album.

I enjoyed pretty much every track with a few exceptions. Really enjoy the layering that goes on with this artist's work. The musicality is great also. Some groups, some CDs... they just lack the variety to fill an entire disc with different, interesting and beautiful music... Not so with this album.

So many different sounds and expressions, you won't get bored.

Free Music Review: It grows on you quickly
Hit: 5 Stars

I had the opportunity to listen to the album in its entirety online when it first came out, courtesy of Imogen Heap via Myspace. I listened as I did chores around the house and found that there wasn't much on the album that stood out. After seeing that she would be in concert next month in my state, I decided I better get the album and get familiar with it so I would enjoy the concert more. I listened to the album about 3 times in a row and it definitely started to grow on me. Now I can say I really enjoy it and I do recommend it to any Immi fan.

Free Music Review: A feast for the ears
Hit: 5 Stars

I am a huge fan of Imogen Heap, both solo and with Frou Frou. This CD does not disappoint. The more you listen, the more you'll hear. The more you hear, the more you'll like it. Imogen's music and vocals have many layers, with everyday sound effects sprinkled in for good measure. Something might not catch your ear until you have listened to the CD over and over again---which I have. It has been in my CD player since the day it was released and I'm not ready to take it out.

Free Music Review: Not as immediately catchy as her prior titles, but VERY good
Hit: 5 Stars

Ms. Heap's earlier efforts had better 'hooks', the little ditties that you hum to yourself afterward. This album is much more relaxed, and doesn't have earworms in quite the same way. But it's really quite lovely to listen to, and given some time for the subtler melodies to sink in, has ended up being just as worthy as the earlier albums. It just took a little longer for its value to become apparent to a relative music illiterate. :)
