Free Music Notes for In The Heights (Original Broadway Cast Recording)Free Music Review: energetic and fun! Hit: 5 Stars
I saw the show in March 2009 and thoroughly enjoyed it, even from the nosebleed seats. It was easy to see why In the Heights won the Tony for best musical! The soundtrack does not disappoint; the talent and energy of the cast shines through in each track. The band is excellent as well and really drives home the Latin feel. If you liked the show or enjoy showtunes in general I think you will enjoy this CD.
Free Music Review: I highly recommend this show and soundtrack! Hit: 5 Stars
I saw this show in NY a month ago and can't stop playing the soundtrack! The soundtrack is very different from anything I've heard in that it is a hip hop musical. The story line is one that many people can relate to and the lyrics are pretty impactful. If you see the show, the dance choreography to the music is amazing. In addition, the musical gives a shout out to Stanford University!
Free Music Review: "HEIGHTS" ACHIEVED Hit: 5 Stars
I defy anyone to listen to the cast CD of "In the Heights" and sit still. It is the most intoxicating score that has come from Broadway in years. Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote the score and is the leading man and has contributed more energy and exuberance that translates in the recording. The score won the Tony for 2007 and deservedly so. Put on your dancing shows and go!
Free Music Review: Most amazing Broadway out there Hit: 5 Stars
This show was absolutely amazing. It has been the best broadway I've seen in years. I'm as stunned as I was when I first saw wicked, but I honestly loved this one more than wicked. The soundtrack is amazing, some of these songs are so good they give me chills.
Highlights:
in the heights, 96,000, the club, finale
Free Music Review: "Heights" soars to new Heights! Hit: 5 Stars
I would highly recommend "In the Heights" to anyone! The cast is so incredibly talented, and this show is different than pretty much anything on Broadway today. It's a fresh sound that combines Broadway belting, love songs, and an urban/Latino/hip-hop flair.
I would give it more stars if I could! Buy the CD/Go see it!
