Free Music Review: Best new band I have heard in a LONG time

I was lucky enough to see this band for the first time last night. They were playing a music festival in Downtown Jackson, MS and the restaurant that I manage was open to the bands and road crews as a backstage area. These kids hung out in the restaurant all day and I thought that they were part of the road crew. At 8:30 I was shutting down the restaurant and headed out to hear Edwin McCain at another stage when it happened. I heard this voice that made me turn around and look over my shoulder to see what I was hearing. It was this young, polite kid that was hanging out in our restaurant all day singing his a** off! I never made it to see Edwin McCain. I would have never thought that there would have been a chance in the world that any of these kids would have had stage presence, but I was wrong. They were a very high energy band that played their hearts out for an hour and a half in the sticky 92 degree Mississippi heat and when it was over, they walked over to their merchandise table and I can promise you this...... that is where they STAYED! They stayed there until every single person that wanted to talk to them, take a photo with them, or have them sign something had left! That is just their character reference! It would take three pages to review the music. It was the most honest, heartfelt music that I have heard in a long time, and as a local musician and writer, I listen to a LOT of music. I had to buy the CD on the spot because I didnt know if I could find it in the local record store. It was later that night when I noticed that Emerson Hart of Tonic co-wrote one of the songs with them on the CD. The writing and playing is wonderful and the production is great. If they continue to grow musically, they are destined to be superstars. And I can't think of a more deserving, well mannered group of kids. Support this band. You will thank me for it when you hear the CD!
