Free Music Review: Relaxing and stimulating at the same time
Hit: 5 Stars

****It's been a while now, and listening to this album gives me so much comfort and joy that I had to log on and update my review. After giving it a second and third chance, I've decided I love this album because it relaxes me, stimulates my brain (the choices she makes writing the music and lyrics are interesting and creative), and lifts my heart all at the same time. It's a rare thing to find an album that does that for a person...this one is mine :)
I fully intend to buy every single album she ever makes. My favorites are "Once was Love," "Locked Up," and "Maybe."
--And, just in case you were wondering, I am far from bored and have decided that the CD is not inconsistent, she just mixes different song styles on this album. There are now only 2 songs I wouldn't pay for individually.

Below is my original review:

There are a few songs on this album that are pretty good. When I first listened to the CD, I was surprised that I got bored after the first 3 (or so) songs. The album has a good start with "Soldier," and your interest is peaked at that point for what comes next because the song is unique and entertaining. Upon listening further, I decided the album is inconsistent and tends to feel very bland at times. There are about 3-4 songs worth keeping. My advice is to listen to it before you buy (youtube) and then buy the songs that you like individually instead of purchasing the entire album.

Free Music Review: My Favorite Ingrid Album, So Far!
Hit: 5 Stars

This is Carol Butler's son writing this review. I've been a fan of Ingrid ever since I first heard "The Way I Am" on the radio, back in 2008. I bought her first album, and listened to the whole thing. I enjoyed the other songs, but, not nearly as much as "The Way I Am". Her second album, "Be OK" is... well... just OK. The single "Be OK" is my favorite song on the album. Many of the songs on there are covers of popular songs such as "Over the Rainbow" and "Can't Help Falling in Love".

"Everybody" is Ingrid's third, and, in my opinion, best album, to date. The songs contained here are all wonderful. My favorites are "Everybody", "Maybe", "Soldier", "So Long", "Are We There Yet?", "Sort Of", "Locked Up", and "Mountain and the Sea", which is nearly the whole album. There are all songs I can relate to in one way or another.

This album is highly recommended.

Free Music Review: Excellent
Hit: 5 Stars

I've always been a fan of Ingrid Michaelson and think that she's very talented. However, with her other albums, I really got the impression that she was still searching for her niche. The music was good, and the lyrics were nice but sometimes trite. I can't listen to her older albums over and over (which is how I gadge the greatness of a singer/group/whatever). This album, on the other hand, is a lot different. I looked up all the lyrics of every song and found them, above all, clever, but also heart-wrenching in some places, funny in others, real-life, and incredibly appropriate. The music is equally catchy and lovely.

This album is a tribute to Ingrid's incredible growth as both a musician and a woman. I can only believe that in the future, she will continue in the same manner.

Great CD that I would recommend to anyone.

Free Music Review: OH HELLS YES
Hit: 5 Stars

I'm digging this cd. 'Soldier' is a great anthem, ready to rock you from the beginning, begging for attention. 'Are We There Yet' has a yearning to it in the vein of Glass on Ingrid's last album. Did I mention this album begs to be listened to again and again? Seriously, so many hot tracks to choose from. Now, to be honest I was a tad worried after that 'Be Ok' song, which I found tedious at best. But this is AWESOME, capital AWESOME. 'Chain' is great builder, with a huge climbing chorus of vocals at the finale. 'Mountatin and The Sea' is just feel good sing-along tune, but my FAVORITE has to be 'Once Was Love'....such a great album, though I had doubts after that silly, little 'Be Ok' song. I'll shut my mouth now. This is hardcore awesome, and Ingrid really nailed it here. Girls and Boys is still awesome too though. Awesome work, Ingrid!!! LOVING IT!

Free Music Review: A casual listener's take
Hit: 5 Stars

So I'll admit that I haven't really followed Ingrid Michaelson. But I decided to go ahead and sample a few tracks from her new album. I was so impressed that I bought the entire album! And I've only been more impressed from there on out. If I were to characterize this album I would say it has great lyrics, catchy arrangements with guitar, piano, strings, and finally that sweet, sweet soulful voice. My favorites so far are "Soldier", "Sort Of", "Locked Up" and "Maybe". If there's an anthem of all the songs it's definitely "Maybe". I wouldn't be surprised if this album got a lot of radio play and lots of awards.
