Free Music Review: Great Album, but which color should you get?
Hit: 5 Stars

The worst band in the world to most and the most adored band by the select few who have followed the ups and downs of the wicked clowns. The Insane Clown Posse have had over 20 albums over the past 20 years and many side projects that have come along. With each album comes a new challenge: To please juggalos and to bring in new blood. With the release of Bang! Pow! Boom!, they have achieved just that. This album to me was a throwback to the albums of days gone by. Mixing elements from Riddle Box, Great Milenko, and The Amazing Jeckel Brothers, the clowns have created a great new chapter in the Dark Carnival. Bang! Pow! Boom! Brings back everything I loved about ICP. From the carnival sounds to the wicked lyrics, this album is a blast. I have never really been let down by an ICP album (though some of them could have been better) and I feel that sometimes we judge things too harshly. With every new release we expect more and more, and better and better We expect certain things to be perfect and flawless. This is life, my friends and nothing is ever perfect or flawless. This album comes pretty damn close though.

The only fault I can say with this release is there are three different versions: Blue, Red, and Green.
So back to my header, which version should you get?
I would say all three, but to some that is not a practical solution to this question. So let me break it down for you. All three versions have a different second track. I won't lie, they are all good. However, depending on which one you hear will have an impact on how you enjoy the album based on your expectations.

The Red version has the song Freaky Creep Show and is a dark song. It goes more along the lines of something off of Hell's Pit. So If you hear that one it might be a bit misleading. Sure there are some really good wicked tracks on here but not in the same vein as Hell's Pit. (with the exception of two tracks)

The Green Version has The Clowns Are Back and is a more upbeat carnival song. Think Riddle Box mixed with Tempest.

The Blue version has Beautiful Doom and is probably the catchiest. It is a mix of the previous styles of the other two songs. A little dark but upbeat at the same time. Strange, I know.

I do have to point out the other difference as well which could be the deal breaker. The mystery song. After the song Bang! Pow! Boom!, there is a bonus song. (about 2 min of dead air) I have to tell you out of all of them, Red has the best bonus song. It's about Shaggy sneaking out of a mental ward and going to see his girlfriend. I won't spoil it for you but it is quite funny and a near perfect ten. The Blue album has the next best secret song. Its about J and Shaggy killing somebody over a woman. This one is quite catchy but not as catchy as the previous one. I liked this song a lot , but I didn't care as much for the delivery of the lyrics. Now the Green one....um, lets just say I didn't like this one that much. I would still listen to it occasionally, but it's not as good. It's not really a song. More of an anthem. Kind of like a new version of "If You Believe In Having Sex" by 2 Live Crew. You know, it's not bad a listen but I would prefer an actual song. That's all I'm saying. So really, it just boils down to those factors. Whichever album you do buy I think you will be quite pleased. The Tracks are as goes:

1) Intro: The introduction of the new Dark Carnival character Bang! Pow! Boom! 10/10

2) Freaky Creep Show: Dark and twisted. The clowns talk about what goes on in their carnival. 10/10
The Clowns Are Back: J and Shaggy talk about their return to the carnival. 10/10
Beautiful Doom: Talks about the impeding doom known as Bang! Pow! Boom! 10/10

3) In Yo Face: The Hocus Pocus/ Bring It On of the album. 10/10

4) The Bone: J talks about all the different ways he gives people the bone. My least favorite, but still good. 8/10

5) Zombie Slide: Raising the dead, zombies sliding, sign me the hell up. 10/10

6) To Catch A Predator: J poses a child to lure sexual predators to his house. Then brutally tortures them. 10/10

7) Boing Boing: Sex, sex, and more sex. The duo discuss why the women love them. 9/10

8) I Found A Body: J finds a dead body and hangs out with it. Dark song. 10/10

9) Love: Do you take love the wrong way? Are you obsessed? These two are. Reminds me of The Stalker 10/10

10) Fonz Pond: This pond is a scary, haunted place. People go missing. Doesn't sound fun. 10/10

11) Imma Kill U: Killing, Killing, Killing. Fun, Fun, Fun. Old school sound and raps. 10/10

12) Juggalo Island: A fantastic paradise for all juggalos. Reminds me of Pass Me By. 10/10

13) Vultures: Are you waiting for a loved one to die so you can have their stuff? Then this song might be about you. For shame. 10/10

14) Vera Lee: About a girl J went to school with and liked but didn't talk to her. It now haunts him. 10/10

15) Miracles: J and Shaggy explain the different miracles in life that we may take for granted. 10/10

16) Bang ! Pow! Boom!: The devastation that is unleashed upon the sinners of this world. 10/10

Wow. I can't believe I gave out so many 10's. Well, I guess I biased when it comes to ICP. A fault I will have to live with for the remainder of my life. But to me, there are worse things you could listen to than this. If you are a Juggalo, then you should really enjoy this album unless you nitpick the hell out of it. If you don't like it then it's just not for you. ICP is after all, an acquired taste. Regardless, I give this album a strong recommendation to those that want some good carnival fun.
