Free Music Review: a piece of Hawaii heaven

My husband and I just got back to the mainland from a visit in Hawaii. While we were there we went to the Old Lahina Luau and there for the first time ever we heard the heavenly voice of IZ. We were sad to relize that he has passed away because he is the sound of Hawaii. If you'll never get a chance to go to Hawaii, having any of his CD's will bring closest to what Hawaii is. His peaceful and uplifting music makes Maui seem only a minute away. He was a wonderful treasure and I will forever be a fan.Free Music Review: Haven't heard it yet

I actually haven't heard this album yet. We just got back from Maui and all I've been able to listen to while we were there and since we've gotten back are 2 other IZ albums: "Facing Future" and his Vegas concert. I'm going to buy Ka Ano'i and give it 5 stars in advance since the other two cd's are so outstanding. We absolutely love Hawaii and particularly Kauai. So we were married there on the beach at Hanalei. The night of our wedding Iz was playing in the background, and to our delight the videographer used his over the rainbow/wonderful world track for our Wedding video.I throughly recommend this CD to anyone who wants to slip into their own personal Hawaiian dreamworld!

On atrip to Hawaii, riding a tour bus, this CD was playing, it was so good, had to buy it as soon as I got home, this music by IZ is so compelling, I had to find out more about the man, and my findings made the music even more meaningful, this is the second CD I have, and prize both of them highly,Free Music Review: early Bruddah Iz

This is good stuff. Not his best--before he really found his voice in the material from outside his native culture. Even that stuff is good, just not resonant, and some of the native stuff sounds a little over-produced and touristy. Still good, though, and settling on some commutes.
