With every release it becomes harder to pick an Ivy favorite. In the Clear is at least a great as the previouse releases and may just edge them out as the most complete release to date. Free Music Review: One of my favourite CD's ever!

Oh my god! I love this cd! This album is the most sophisticated, sleek and chic album ever. Listening to this album makes me want to open my own ultra modern cocktail lounge just so i can play this cd inside it.
No band i have ever head have been able to create such catchy vocal melodies and riffs and team them with such perfectly arranged pieces of music.
The perfect time to listen to this album would be while driving along a winding coast line overlooking a beach. Every time i listen to this album, i am inspired to do so.
My favourite song on this album is 'Keep Moving' and every time i hear it, i get chills down my spine.
This album has an atmosphere all of its own and once you put it in your cd player, you won't be able to take it out. I highly recomend this album.

Odlican pop album koji zna da napravi atmosferu i nacini jutro lepsim. Kao gost albuma pojavljuje se i Jeams Iha i to na dve pesme, ritmicnoj i pevljivoj Tess Don't Tell i Clear My Head. Pravu poslasticu cini pesma Corners Of Your Mind.
Album za one koji uzivaju u pravom popu i znaju kako se pije martini.

as so many have mentioned, it's nice to see ivy finally get their due. i saw them back in 1998 on the 'apartment life' tour at the troubador in l.a. it was a spectacular show, though somewhat sparsely attended. dominique is as lovely as ever (brains, beauty and musical talent? not fair!)
adam and andy are superb musicians and master craftsmen. each successive album seems a bit clearer, a bit classier, a bit more melodic, and leaning ever closer to pop nirvana. they've mastered the art of the 3 minute 30 second pop song. 'thinking of you,' 'ocean city girl,' 'tess don't tell,' and 'i've got you memorized'(nice bass on this track, adam) are all vintage ivy tracks. fortunately they exand their landscapes a bit too. 'nothing but the sky' brings in some nice sonics and 'keep moving' adds a bit of a dance punch.
when listening to 'in the clear,' i almost get the feeling they're *too* good, if such a thing is possible. every ivy track's been polished to a silvery luster and i get the feeling they've labored over every minute detail. part of me wants them to dirty things up a bit, but then again, that wouldn't be ivy.
in the end, ivy proves that good things come to those who wait. after a decade of churning out impossibly good pop songs, it's nice to see them get their due recognition (even it means i have to share them with the rest of the world).
(and in case you don't know, adam schlesinger splits his time between playing bass in ivy and fountains of wayne, and also wrote 'that thing you do' for the movie -- yeah, the guy's good)
