Free Music Notes for Long DistanceFree Music Review: Long Distance by Ivy Hit: 5 Stars
I recently rented Shallow Hal and I fell in love with the last song, "I think of you" in the closing credits. With some google investigation, I found out about this band and I am now a big fan. I just received the CD today and I have been listening to it all day. I am now ordering another to send to my mother. She and I have similiar taste in music and I am positive she will love it also. The whole CD is so gorgeous.
Free Music Review: This is one of the best cd's I've ever listened to. Hit: 5 Stars
Like a breath of fresh air, Ivy's music leaves you feeling light and energized. Being a fan of Astrud Gilberto's, I hear faint similiarities in the music's style: airy and smooth. "Worry About You," "Undertow" and "Edge of the Ocean" are incredible. The music just makes you feel good! Ended up buying all her cd's, but Long Distance, in my opinion, is the absolute best. This music clears out the cobwebs.
Enjoy
Free Music Review: great music, great production Hit: 5 Stars
This is just a great recording of popular music. The songs are not real complex lyrically but evoke moods nevertheless. The songs, top to bottom, are just fun to listen to. Obviously this group has found voice and music that work well and it just explodes here. Every song on this recording is a keeper. You'll listen to this one over and again. A real pleasure to add to the collection.
Free Music Review: Another great Ivy album Hit: 5 Stars
To follow up the genius of "Apartment Life" would be a daunting task for any band, but Ivy came back in fine form - and with a new approach. The integration of electronics into their sound works incredibly well on this album. But the great thing is that the "Ivy sound" is never lost; the album retains all the elements that make Ivy the great band it is.
Free Music Review: "Worry About You" is the theme song for Kingdom Hospital Hit: 5 Stars
Just another interesting tidbit...I knew I had heard that song somewhere before and spent quite awhile tracking it down on the Internet. Another reason to go back and pull this disc out for another listen. _Long Distance_ is a great, mellow, trip-hop/electronica CD and has had a long shelf-life, what with its use in the film _Shallow Hal_ and now this. Highly recommended.
