Free Music Review: I'm decent at singing, but I REALLY gotta give it up to J. Holiday!

I'm decent at singing and I WILL go as far as saying that his voice is better than mine. FAR better. I would rate my singing at a 2.75/5 and J's at a solid 3.75/5.
The material here is kinda lackluster. Bed? Who cares? We all have sexual desires and have sex. Nobody cares! Where is the substance that R&B & Soul used to possess?? I don't get it!!
Come again, J? Not to mention he's a fine mofo. But that doesn't constitute for his music at all. And he swears a LOT. I'm all for self-expression and I would never buy an edited CD but he swears for absolutely NO good reason.
I guess this CD isn't a super-throwaway like a lot of the mess is today. Somebody laced the beats (is that a surprise these days?) and the lyrics are OK. It's not Rap, Hip-Hop or honky-dory Country so it gets props for not being that!
In fact, this CD isn't bad at all. It's borderline fantastic. He just needs to broaden his horizons, lyrically. But if He writes then I welcome Him to the deceiving yet rewarding game, that is music!! (Hugs J)

What a disappointment! I read his spot on myspace about how he takes influence from Otis Redding and thought this would be a good R&B album. Was I ever wrong. There is so much fowl language throughout I can't decide if he wants to be gangsta or lover. The only good song was the 2 singles he released and that's it. I was curious to see if J. was just another one hit wonder or if he actually had some talent and I'm glad to report that the boy can sang! At first I found myself skipping past songs, but once I got a chance to listen to it up close in my iPod I was hooked and now I can't stop playing it. If you're looking for a CD that you can just let ride this is the one for you. Amongst my favorites are Suffocate, Fatal and Bed, but the CD has a lot to offer.Free Music Review: Serious Disappointment

This was a disappointment because I had my eye on J.holiday for a minute when i heard "be with me" last year...and then of course bed was ridiculous but notice that all his hot songs "suffocate", "fatal" and "bed" were written by the dream and then the parental advisory made me chuckle. None of his songs except the above had any substance and were to immature for his age which really annoyed me. But i liked bits and pieces of songs but never the whole thing...so seriously consider ituning this not purchasing the album :(
