and you can't forget the production compliments him perfectly...GET THIS ALBUM!!!!!
Free Music Review: Representing DC to the fullest Hit: 4 StarsIm glad 2 see that someone from DC is doing their thing most of the artist u heard of from DC are not actually from DC they are from the DC Suburbs in PG County Maryland such as Johnny Gill, Ginuwine, and Kenny Lattimore although Amerie claims DC she is didn't grow up here she mainly went to college here, Georgetown University, and dont forget for you old heads out there that say DC doesnt have much as far as music Marvin Gaye was from DC, but as for J. Holiday he isn't from the suburbs he is from the gritty southeast side of DC and i wish him mad success and this album is definetly a great way to start of his career. U definetly need to pick this album up it goes good with some "Laa Laa" u know what i mean
Free Music Review: This wont put you to bed Hit: 5 StarsThis CD is a banger from start to finish. This DC based artist is on the rise but sadly like most good artist who are not commerical he'll get over looked. One of the best R&B albums of the year!
Free Music Review: Surprisingly decent- but too much cussin Hit: 3 StarsPretty decent cd- but I agree with whoever said you need to get the clean version- I sold my "dirty" version on Ebay. Can't stand cussin' in R&B- if I want to hear that, I'll buy rap. 6 of the first 7 songs have something they'd have to bleep on the radio...ugh! But the last few songs aren't like that, and every song's pretty good. My fave's are the hit "Bed," the Rodney Jerkins produced "Be With Me" (should be a radio hit), "Pimp in Me," and "Fatal". "Thug Commandments" sounds very much like Jaheim's "Fabolous" (same producer, Balewa Muhammad...) Surprisingly good set from J. who's from DC and who sounds a lot like his VA neighbor Trey Songz to me- funny that their albums dropped the same day. Good voice- can't wait 'til he grows up... If you want to hear some good clean R&B, you gotta get Eric Roberson's "Left", Bobby Valentino's "special occasion," Tamia's "between friends," w. ellington felton's "outrospective" (another DC product, friend of Raheem DeVaughn's), Ne-Yo's "because of you" and Keyshia Cole's "Just Like You." And though its a bit sexual (but no cussin), Jill Scott's "words and sounds, vol. 3" is probably the r&b album of the year.
Free Music Review: Puttin' DC on the map Hit: 4 StarsI have had J. Holiday's CD since the day it came out, and I must admit it is a great CD. My fave tracks are the sexy hit "Bed", "Suffocate" and "You should be with me". The whole CD is nice you can out it on and let it play. It stays in rotation in my car.
