This is one great musical! The story, I feel, is well played out, and you can relate to the characters as they go through all of their trials and tribulations of being on the bottom of the newspaper "food chain". The songs are stirring- I especially like "Seize the Day", and they with you, even after the movie is over. The dance scenes are wonderful- they are so full of energy. I really feel that this movie didn't get all it should have gotten.Free Music Review: Spectacular!

When I first heard that my school was putting on the porduction, "Newsies", I'd never heard of it before in my life. So my friend and I went out to rent it, watched it, and discovered we loved it! This movie/CD has the best music and the story is great. I never stop listening to this CD, and I never get tired of it. Now "Newsies" is one of my all-time favorite movies and CDs. This movie was originally going to be a drama, with no music at all. After they had already made the cast selections they decided to make it into a musical. Most of the voices you will hear on this soundtrack are untrained, but that adds to the magic of it. Don't think that because they are untrained that it won't be as good as you hoped- it's every bit as great as any other musical, more so because of the passion you can feel through these young singers.Free Music Review: Great Soundtrack

I've loved this movie since first seeing it in eighth grade. The music has always sent shivers down my spine, and the soundtrack delivers. My one small complaint with it is that the songs with dialogue in them don't have that, so there are patches of just music. However, this music is great so it dosn't bother me too much. I'm listening to "The World Will Know" right now, and can honestly say that this soundtrack is a must-have for any Newsies lover.
