This movie was originally going to be a drama, with no music at all. After they had already made the cast selections they decided to make it into a musical. Most of the voices you will hear on this soundtrack are untrained, but that adds to the magic of it. Don't think that because they are untrained that it won't be as good as you hoped- it's every bit as great as any other musical, more so because of the passion you can feel through these young singers.Free Music Review: One of the Best

I am a big fan of musicals, growing up watching and being entertained by them all. They have such a great, magical, quality, they are able to chase any gray cloud away. I think the newsies is one of those classic stories that just gives you a feel good experience weither you've watched for the first time or the hundreth. The song and dance numbers are infectous and the story itself is amazing. Free Music Review: something for everyone

This sountrack is nothing without having seen the movie. However it is still a very good sountrack. It has a little bit of everything, sad songs and happy songs, ones that make you want to get up and dance and some mellow ones as well. This musical was not only fun, but educational. The songs are all wonderful. My favorites are Seize the Day, The King of New York, and Sante Fe. I never knew these people could sing!Free Music Review: Newsies rocks my face off!

The Newsies movie has been a favorite of mine since I was young and I can't believe I've waited so long to get the soundtrack! I actually bought it "for my fiance" (although he has to share) for valentine's day as something he can sing along with to keep him awake on his way to work! We have fun singing the songs together in our fake New York accents! "Carrying the Banner," of course, is one of the most fun to sing to. Really, all of the songs are great in their own way, but the fast ones are easy to get into! It's hard to listen to when you aren't able to dance with it!
