Free Music Review: Great soundtrack!

This is an awesome movie, and the soundtrack does an excellent job of capturing the music from it. It's a great story of the power of unity. I get the chills when I hear the reprise of "The World Will Know" (specifically, the words "When you've got a million voices ringing", after the first time, when they sing "When you've got a hundred voices ringing"). "Santa Fe" is probably my favorite song in it because it has such a haunting tune.It does have a similar sound to some of Menken's other musicals, such as "Beauty and the Beast" (For example, "Santa Fe" sounds a bit like "Belle (reprise)"...and both songs are sung by a character who dreams of much more than he/she has known, about his/her dreams)
I highly recommend this CD.
Free Music Review: Uplifting Music! Great harmonies, lyrics, beat, everything!

This is the soundtrack of the Disney movie baised on the Newspaper Boys' strike in 1898. The music is phenomenal and very uplifting! It's very catchy and powerful. There are some awesome songs included that are moving and emotional, but at the same time fun and inspiring. My personal favorite is Seize the Day, whose lyrics will echo through the ages:Now is the time to seize the day
Send out the call and join the fray
Wrongs will be righted
If we're united
Let us seize the day!
There are many other amazing songs that will roll around in your mind for days: King of New York, Carrying the Banner, Santa Fe, The World Will Know, and many others. Not only that, this CD is a bargain! Your biggest problem will be getting the lyrics out of your head - this soundtrack is addictive!

Keeping in mind that "Newsies" was officially decided to be made a musical only months before they started shooting it just impresses me! These boys came into this sort of stunned that now they had to use their voices, but they, as well as the writers and composers, put together a very enjoyable soundtrack to listen to!
Alan Menken has, once again, composed some catchy, meaningful tunes. I just wish that they were more well-known in the Disney "world".
The singers themselves are pretty good, especially considering many of them had never sung before, such as Christian Bale. While they aren't all American Idols, they aren't painful to listen to, either.
All in all, if you like Disney, or Broadway, or even New York, this is a good CD worth the buy!

I watched the movie at the end of the year in my English class, my teacher said it would help us somehow. What surprised me was that I already knew two of the songs! 'Santa Fe' was sung by one of my friends at a talent show and 'Seize the Day' we sang for choir. I instantly fell in love with the show and came across the soundtrack and HAD to buy it. I listened to it night and day for about a week. By then I had figured out the best songs and skipped through the ones I disliked. The absolute BEST songs are:
Carrying the Banner
The World Will Know
Santa Fe
Seize the Day
King of New York
Once and For All
I highly suggest getting this if you liked the music in the show. I listen to it constantly and know my favorite songs by heart.

My name is Megan and I'm 14 years old. I first saw the movie Newsies about a year ago, and I think it's the best thing in the world! The soundtrack is the next-best thing in the entire world! (Welcome to the Newsies Cult) Even though this soundtrack is not very high-quality (give them a break, it was made a while back) compared to some other CD's of today, it's a DEFINATE MUST-GET! I am a Christian and I like to consider myself having more morals than most kids my age. If you want a soundtrack that is G-rated and still VERY good and not "nerdy", this is definately it! (Naturally, your DMX-liking friends will laugh, but who cares about them?) And always rememeber: NEWSIES IS NOT "JUST A MOVIE/SOUNDTRACK": IT IS A WAY OF LIFE!!!!!!
