My name is Megan and I'm 14 years old. I first saw the movie Newsies about a year ago, and I think it's the best thing in the world! The soundtrack is the next-best thing in the entire world! (Welcome to the Newsies Cult) Even though this soundtrack is not very high-quality (give them a break, it was made a while back) compared to some other CD's of today, it's a DEFINATE MUST-GET! I am a Christian and I like to consider myself having more morals than most kids my age. If you want a soundtrack that is G-rated and still VERY good and not "nerdy", this is definately it! (Naturally, your DMX-liking friends will laugh, but who cares about them?) And always rememeber: NEWSIES IS NOT "JUST A MOVIE/SOUNDTRACK": IT IS A WAY OF LIFE!!!!!!Free Music Review: Thank you for re-releasing "Newsies"!

Newsies has always been my favorite movie in the world, and I was so unhappy when I found out the movie AND the soundtrack were out of print. But luckly, you've re-released the soundtrack (all you need to do is re-release the movie, too!). This soundtrack is what makes the movie. Even though it was bad at the box office, it has had a large, strong fanbase as it's popularity increases. I think that Newsies is a diamond in the rough. In the nineties, there wasn't too many GOOD movies that weren't filled with sex, [heavy] violence, and/or the promotion of illegal drugs. It's good to know that there is a movie that is great for all ages and does not promote any of the disgusting, degrading things we see so often today. I liked the Cd alot expect Santa Fe they didn't need to sing that song. It made no sense what so ever. My favorite song was"King of New York" only one problem Bill Pullman. Bill Pullman is a good actor, but he could of done with out the singing. It was awful! This Cd was extremely hard to find, but was worth the effort. I was just going to buy it off the Amazom, but my computer wasn't working. This CD has catchy tunes that rattle around in your head for the rest of the day. Here and there there are some hitches like adding a verse or deleting one, but all the same its got some great songs, good tunes, and an interesting story line. I Highly reccomend this to anybody who likes music. I also think you should watch the movie or DVD.Free Music Review: great spirited music

I think the music on this cd is highly unique even for a musical. Energetic and/or Inspirational are the keywords, for most of the songs, that is. A couple of them are very mellow. The highly visible theme focuses on people stepping up and uniting themselves to overcome injustices. Achieving your dreams is perhaps another theme. Of course there may more themes but we'll leave that up to opinion. I believe most of the singing is done my male voices since the newsies are males in the movie, perhaps one of the unique things about this. Their voices are excellent and they harmonize so well for a perhaps somewhat large choir of its kind. They sound very good in my opinion and have a unique appeal. Newsies is one of my favorite movies of all time which can say alot because I am a big movie freak. This movie being one of the biggest cult classics of the 90's stole away my loathing of the modern movie musical. Now the music in this musical is some of the most catchy stuff you will ever listen too. Even after seeing this movie a thousand times it never gets old and that is why the soundtrack is such a great product to buy. You can't judge the newsies by the reviews it got and the short amount of time it was in theaters. Take it from a fanatic like me and go out and buy the c.d and the movie because it is by far one if the most fun movies you will ever watch. Thanks for reading.
