Free Music Review: From a Fangirl

Like my title said, I'm a fangirl of Newsies who is disturbingly obsessed with it. When a few of my friends introduced me to it, I was a goner. Yes, I know it's cheesy and a bad excuse for bad filmmaking. Still...if you've ever been a secret die hard fan of something, you know what I'm talking about. It's awesome.
BUT.From a neutral standpoint, putting all fan-biase aside, I see this as an average musical cd. The singing isn't great, the music is very early 90's and the cover is a bit lame. However, the songs tell an inspiring and nontheless entertaining story, which makes it worth a listen. :)

I set my alarm each to wake-up to the song "Seize The Day" the songs are this Soundtrack are some of the best and most inspiring songs- they kind of remind me of a kiddie-version of Les Miserables. I love each of the songs and find them inspiring this is perhaps the best work done by the man who gave us the classic songs from Beauty and the Beast and brought us Little Shop of Horrors. The movie was simply brillant and remains to this day to be one of my favorite musicals but, this C.D will impress it will make you want to get up and change the world! I love Newsies, and I love the soundtrack. I listen to it over, and over, and I'm still not tired of it. If you have ever seen the movie "Newsies" you're missing out on a lot, especially the awesome music. I can't decide on a favorite song, because I love them all so much, except Ann-Marget's "Lovey-Dovey Baby" which isn't as enjoyable as "Carrying the Banner" , "King of New York" , "Seize the Day" or "Once and For All", which I thought was performed excellently. I'm in love with Newsies, and I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys well-done musicals, or just someone who enjoys music!Free Music Review: Decent Singers, Good CD

I loved the movie "Newsies", so of course I love the musical. Most of the songs are good."Carrying the Banner", "King of New York", "The World Will Know", and "Seize the Day" are the songs that grab your attention fom the start. "Santa Fe" and "Once and for All" are songs that don't sound so hot in the beginning but grow on you. The only songs that are excellent on the CD are the Medda songs and instrumentals.
Though some of the actors' voices aren't exactly top-quality, this CD is still a great buy.

The Newsies movie has been a favorite of mine since I was young and I can't believe I've waited so long to get the soundtrack! I actually bought it "for my fiance" (although he has to share) for valentine's day as something he can sing along with to keep him awake on his way to work! We have fun singing the songs together in our fake New York accents! "Carrying the Banner," of course, is one of the most fun to sing to. Really, all of the songs are great in their own way, but the fast ones are easy to get into! It's hard to listen to when you aren't able to dance with it!
