I love this CD! I was just introduced to Jack Johnson this February. My friend Dina played Bubble Toes and it sounded so familiar. I liked the few songs from Brushfire Fairytales that I heard. (Sexy Plexi,Fortunate Fool, Flake, Bubble Toes,) So I decided to get into his music. From then on i was hooked. I picked up On and On and I am very impressed. It hasn't left my CD player yet!
~Times like these~ ***** out of *****. I like this one because it is so relaxing and i like the his mmmmm's and mmmmhmmm's!
~Horizon has been defeated~ **** out of ***** I like the lyric "people are lonely and only animals with fancy shoes" Also he has a good point when he says "machines become our hands/feet become the wheels/" but its fun and just not my favorite though.
~Traffic in the sky~ ***** ot of *****I love his mmmhhmmmm's once more! I really like this one. This song always gets me in a "thinking mood" It's very peaceful.
~Taylor~***** out of ***** I don't care for the lyrics to much. But I really like the beat.
~Gone~**** out of ***** listen to the lyrics!! just listen. Made me think about how I don't need diamond rings to be happy and, welll u get the main idea.
~Cupid~ *** of ***** Cool melody, rather short though.. Which I would have liked to be longer.
~Wasting Time~ ***** of ***** I absolutely love the guitar vibe in the beginnning. Really nice groove to it. "Why don't we get together?/We could waste everything tonight"
~Holes to Heaven~ **** of ***** Jack's go a good point. But what's all this abou Port Blair? LOL ooo-k But I love the music though!
~Dreams be dreams~ *** of ***** "Don't let your dreams be dreams"
~Tomorrow Mornng~ ***** of *****. Love the soft singing and solo guitar at the beginning. It's also coo how the percussion and bass kicks in though. Real smooth.
~Fall Line~ *** of ***** Very nice. I don't know if I understand what the Fall Line is. But maybe I just need 2 listen more.
~Cookie Jar~ ***** of ***** Woah, this song tells a true story. I can understand where Jack is coming from. When u listen to it, you get sucked into the song. had t listen to the song thoroughly a few times before I really understoof the maning.
~Rodeo Clowns~ **** of ***** A little fast to understand, but the mesage is strong.
~Cocoon~ ***** of ***** AWWWWWW!! His voice is so soft and sweet on this one! I love it!
~Mediocre Bad Guys~ ***** of ***** THis song reminds me of another song. i cannot put my finer on it. Its so laid back. A good one on the album.
~Symbol in my driveway~ ***** of ***** A good closer for te CD. "I've got a symbol in my driveway/got a hundred million dollar friends/got a brand new weapon/ let's see how destructive we can be"
Overall, this is a GREAT CD! GO BUY IT! enjoy!

Japanese pressing limited edition price for Jack Johnson's 2003 album adds one bonus track. 17 tracks. Def Jam.
Jack Johnson has found himself a groove. Indeed, the Hawaiian surfing champion turned alternative pop-folk star really hasn't changed things one iota for his sophomore release. Fans of Brushfire Fairytales should be delighted with the results. The groove is a mellow one--most of the 16 tracks here are semi-acoustic--and that easy-going spirit filters into Johnson's lyrical philosophies. "What will be will be / And so it goes" he sings on "Times Like These," the opening track. Thankfully, Johnson is never too mellow, and there's a "Don't worry, be happy" vibe to most of his music. "The Horizon Has Been Defeated" even has a pseudo-reggae feel to it. Although classified as an alternative musician, the singer-songwriter's compositions owe much to past hits. "Traffic in the Sky" is reminiscent of Jim Croce's "Operator" and Looking Glass's one-hit-wonder, "Brandy." On the splendid "Taylor," Johnson sounds an awful lot like Donovan. And "By The Way" recalls the Lovin' Spoonful. -- Bill Holdship
