Free Music Review: Why Stop A Good Thing?
Hit: 5 Stars

Jack Johnson never misses a beat on his follow-up album "On And On." Much anticipated after his debut "Brushfire Fairytales," the new album stays true to the slow, smooth, catchy, Bob Marley-esque, style that warmed the hearts of millions of fans.

Although you won't find much experimentation on this album (partly because Jack wrote many of the songs in the same period he did for Brushfire), the entire album is solid and plays nicely the entire way though. I will add that Jack has really polished his sound in the last two years, and "On And On" flows much more smoothly than Brusfire (if that's even possible!!)

The best thing about the new album is the fact that Jack has proved he can build a legacy of rock-solid laid-back acoustic guitar blues rock sweetened by heart-warming lyrics for years to come!

If you liked the first album, this one's a no-brainer. And if you haven't heard of Jack Johnson before...Where Have You Been?? Buy this CD immediately!!

Free Music Review: I can go on and on about it
Hit: 5 Stars

Jack Johnson is known for his mix of a soft and smooth like silk voice and acoustic sounds. I am a college student and most college students are burying their heads into finely printed text books, if not partying and goofing off. I was looking for something easy to listen to and study at the same time which is why I was tempted to buy Jack Johnson's latest cd. I sat in the nearest Starbucks, put on my earphones, and opened my textbook. To my surprise I was able to achieve my goal of doing my reading for my next day of classes. When was the last time you were able to sail through your homework without being distracted of the overloaded beats in some of your other music? Listening to this cd made me picture a laid back drive around the island with top down and the sun on my shoulders. This cd actually gave me an incentive to do my homework. His smooth sound will keep you pressing the replay button on your cd, I promise!

Free Music Review: On and On is an essential cd
Hit: 5 Stars

Jack Johnson is best friends with the Malloys, Kelly Slater, Rob Machado, and tons of other surfing greats. And being a wonderful surfer himself, he knows exactly the feeling that overwhelms you when you are surfing at a beautiful break, with a warm, clean breeze and setting sunlight brushing the surface of the glassy, clear, warm water, and every now and then the perfect swell comes, rising and tipping, barrelling. He knows that you can't be out there without friends, either. He's surfed with Ben Harper and many of the great surfers and he has made beautiful surfing films. Being a Hawaiian, he knows the great connection between the ocean, man, surfing, and friendships. In this cd his life-loving voice shines through resonating with his personal view of the meaning of life. They're all good, but Times Like These, The Horizon Has Been Defeated, Taylor, Wasting Time, and Mediocre Bad Guys (really, really good) are amazing.

Free Music Review: My favorite Jack Johnson
Hit: 5 Stars

Jack Johnson has become one of my favorite artists. Perhaps it's my mellowing with age, but I find his music bothcalms and cheers me up. I enjoy music that I can sing along with- at least a little bit and after a couple of listens to his CDs I usually can.

If you're someone who needs deep meaning in your music or artists that are obviously troubled, then Jack Johnson is probably not for you. However, if you want a CD that you can throw in and leave in for a while, I think he's the answer.

I do like all of his CDs, but this is my favorite. I do have to add that I may be biased on this one as it was one of the CDs we brought to the hospital to play when I had my son, so it has some major sentimental value to me. That said, we never felt the need to change it for the many hours we were in the delivery room and it was a perfect mix of happy and soothing for the occasion!

Free Music Review: The more I listen, the more I love it !!!
Hit: 5 Stars

I enjoyed this CD very much the first time I ever listened to it. The only problem, however, was it sounded a bit redundant. The beats of many songs on this CD sound almost identical and Jack sings the lyrics the same way in almost all the songs. However, The more I listened to the CD the more I enjoyed it. I began to notice small distinctions between each of the songs that I thought sounded too alike. Now I listen to the CD front to back at least 3 times a day. I am a new fan of Jack Johnson and purchased this CD before Brushfire Fairytales. I like On and On more than Brushfire Fairytales, athough, to be fair I haven't yet give Brushfire Fairytales the listen that it deserves. On and On is very mellow/laid-back and unbelievably catchy. I can't wait to play this CD over and over again on my back deck or up at a buddy's cottage this summer. Best summer CD that I've ever heard.
