Free Music Notes for On and OnFree Music Review: On and on and on and on.... Hit: 1 StarsIdeal for the days when you want to end it all. For when you hear this trite, insipid excrement you'll be desperate to stay alive as Johnson's bland music will surely be playing in the elevator that takes you to the Pit. And for the rest of eternity as you stoke Satan's furnaces.
Don't buy this for your own good!
Free Music Review: Sweeeeet Hit: 5 StarsHis songs swept me off my feet. Lyrics like sweet nothings in my ear.
Free Music Review: Could this be Jack Johnson's peak? Hit: 5 StarsSimple. Melodic. Mellow. Optimistic. In only a few words I have summarized the bulk of Jack Johnson's creative and inspiring music. I own all three of Jack Johnson's albums and, as an experienced guitarist myself, have fun playing his songs even though the majority are simple and easy to play. To me, it's always a greater achievement to do more with less.
Why do I say that this is Jack Johnson's best? To put it simply, it's more developed than Brushfire Fairytales and flows better than In Between Dreams when you listen to the entire album. It's not easy to choose the best album out of all three when each has its own strengths. I can honestly say that I never get tired of listening to On and On - the long lasting life span of this CD truly brings it ahead of the others, even if they are not far behind.
Not convinced? Listen to: "The Horizon Has Been Defeated," "Taylor," "Holes to Heaven," "Fall Line," and "Symbol in My Driveway."
Don't miss out on this creative band.
Free Music Review: Jack's Best CD Hit: 5 StarsJack Johnson has come out with many CDs, and I find "On and On" to be the best. The smooth acoustic songs are catchy, and they all have great lyrics. Best songs are Traffic in the Sky, Rodeo Clowns, Taylor, The Horizon Has Been Defeated, and Holes to Heaven. However, all the songs are great, so go out and by this CD.
Free Music Review: Jack's Best Work Hit: 5 StarsI own all of Jack Johnson's albums and I enjoy every one of them. His first album was very different than his others in that he wasn't expirienced compared to this next album, where I believe he really found what he enjoys playing and starts to get comfortable with it.
This album is very relaxed, but with great melodies and calm, yet complex riffs. The style throughout the album remains the same, which is great to sit back and drift off after a long day. Pop this in your car on the way home and the stresses of work won't be present after just a few minutes.
Definitely worth the buy.
