Free Music Notes for Sleep Through The StaticFree Music Review: Awesome Music! Hit: 5 Stars
I'm only 22 but I know good music. I play guitar, piano, bass guitar, saxophone, and violin. I primarily listen to classic rock, blues-rock, classic country, acoustic, jam, and very few newer artists. Most artists in the last couple of decades have no talent and just rely on studio work and vocal autotune or lip syncing to sound good.
Jack Johnson is one of the few modern artists that has real talent. He doesn't add in a bunch of crap in the studio that can't be replicated live. He doesn't need technology to make his vocals sound good. Jack Johnson is a very good guitar player with a very unique style and technique. He also is a very talented songwriter.
Sleep through the Static is a great album packed full of great music. Jack Johnson put a good variety of soft, mellow songs and some more upbeat songs with a good groove to them. If you like good music and like this style this cd is a must have.
Best songs on album: Hope, Sleep Through the Static, Angel, If I Had Eyes, What You Thought You Need.
The rest of the songs are great too but check out the songs I listed to see if you like this music. If you like it go buy it and kick back and enjoy!
Free Music Review: Reminds me of the good 'ol days Hit: 5 Stars
I'm a big fan of any artist that does an album inspired by an animated monkey, so I obviously like Jack Johnson. I like many things with jack in the name. Panama jack clothes, Jack Daniels whiskey and car jacks. This album is really mellow and gives off a smooth vibe. I should know a thing or two about a smooth vibe. One time a sparrow flew directly into my forehead and died. I'll throw this Cd on in the kitchen when I'm making some blueberry flapjacks in the morning for me and my cat, Captain Fibula. I'll just sit my cat in the infant seat and eat pancakes with her while describing the issues of the day. Yesterday we talked about how the price of honey has really gone up. I understand oil, but honey? C'mon on now!! I then took this CD to my room and put it on when I took a nap. I must have slept for 15 hours which probably exceeds the limit for what you can call a nap, but oh well, snickers!
Anyway, pick up this CD before Fred Durst shows up at your door selling magazines.
Free Music Review: a subtle masterpiece Hit: 5 Stars
After reading some negative reviews for this CD I went out and bought this CD today. I had faith in Jack Johnson but was weary because of all the mixed reviews.
I just listened to the CD from start to finish three times. And I can say that this CD is a masterpiece. It's a very different CD from his other three (or four if you count the Curious George CD). But instead of flaming this CD for its soft sound I am praising it.
This CD does lack some of the upbeat tempos we are used to from Jack Johnson. However, what this CD doesn't lack are great melodies, thought-provoking lyrics, and that smooth Jack Johnson voice. Its beautiful, poetic, sad, heartfelt, magical, and very personal. I have nothing but good things to say about it.
I would recommend this CD to anyone. And to the naysayers, I believe they will come around to this album after a few more listens.
My favorites are tracks 1-5 but I honestly enjoy each track.
Free Music Review: I pretty much love all of Jack Johnson's Albums! Hit: 5 Stars
Well this has to be one of the best albums of 2008. Now really I can't give a bad review to any of Jack Johnson's albums. The way he sings and plays an instrument in any of his songs is totally my style of music that I would prefer to listen to any day of the year. Now to be honest if you've never listened to Jack Johnson this review will help you make your decision of buying this album. Now Jack is known for having a mellow tone in his songs which reminds me of the country singer Waylon Jennings. The lyrics in his songs are very intriguing in this album. You might not always understand what the song is talking about but what the heck! It sounds so cool, especially the song "Go On" which when you listen to it you can almost hear the waves of the ocean softly hitting the shore. Then there's his song "If I had eyes" which picks up the beat in the middle of the album. If your wanting to listen to some relaxing surf/beach music this is the album to Buy!!!
Free Music Review: Another classic from Jack Hit: 5 Stars
My first album was Brushfire fairytales and ever since then I've been a Jack Johnson Fan. I can sit there and listen to all of his albums for hours on end. Although I never really got into curious george. This new album although being criticized for being darker than previous productions, just shows his progression as a musician. At first listen the songs seem to be a little too slow, but after a few listens it grows on you just like every other album. My instant favorites were If I had eyes and monsoon, but after I found some time to chill and Listen to it on a slow Sunday after noon I am now sold on the whole album. Each album has it's suddle differences that keep me interested. Jack is a brillaint musician with a unique voice and fresh lyrics that can be found no where else in the music industry today, plus who can't like an album produced soley on solar power?
