Free Music Notes for Sleep Through The StaticFree Music Review: Fans of John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Josh Ritter... Hit: 5 Stars
Fans of John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Josh Ritter...
check out singer/songwriter James Willhite.
"Willhite often draws comparisons to artists such as John Mayer and Jack Johnson because of his smooth voice, heartfelt songwriting and mellow blues-inspired guitar work. Although Willhite has discovered his own unique sound as of lately, the presence of these contemporary greats is quite prevalent. One may also hear the subtle blues influence of the late guitar legend Stevie Ray Vaughan, who along with Mayer and Johnson is Willhite's biggest musical inspiration."
Debut EP and new single are here on Amazon MP3, on iTunes and emusic.

Free Music Review: Another good album Hit: 5 Stars
I have all of Jack Johnson's albums and this one adds to the stack of good albums. I read the reviews when the album first came out and i was disappointed to read them. It left a sour taste in my mouth as i began listening to the album and i wasn't too fond of it. I have listened to it many more times since then and i can honestly say that i like the album. It has grown on me and i have more appreciation for the songs and Jack's message. Give it a spin and you will hopefully hear the same. It is hard to listen without having preconceived notions from these reviews, but please give it an honest chance and a few go arounds in your player.
Free Music Review: Hooked Hit: 5 Stars
I am not a die-hard Jack Johnson fan and although I will admit that even at times his music can sound repititous, I really do like him (I did see him live once which was an amazing show!). I own one other album (In Between Dream) and after hearing Hope on the radio (which I do not like mainstream music and thereby listen to mostly albums so I think it was a 'sign'), I went and bought this CD on an impulse. But I really really love it. It is a masterpiece. It is lyrically geniousity and musically magical. I cannot wait to buy his other albums (why I am on Amazon right now!) and have them all. :)
Free Music Review: Like Summer in Winter Hit: 5 Stars
This album is just more of the same relaxed joy that Jack Johnson fans are used to. He's not going off in a totally new direction as some artists do after a few albums. If you liked all of his other albums then you'll like this one. It makes me wish that it was summer and I could be out in the sun enjoying these new tunes. It's definitely better then The Curious George Soundtrack, which I enjoyed, but it's not as good as In Between Dreams. Other reviews are right in saying that he could've used one or two upbeat songs mixed in. All and all it was good, more of the same nice music.
Free Music Review: Ahhhh... Hit: 5 Stars
What's cool about Jack is that even his most depressing tunes are relaxing in that laid-back Hawaiian style. There's a lot of disappointment in the state of the world on this album, and a lot of interesting commentary, but the tunes themselves are still calming and uplifting. I love Same Girl and Angel and oh, too many to list. Bonus: my kiddos love it too, and it's so good that it lulls the littlest one to restful sleep on long car rides...
Very cool to know about the solar energy recording sessions, but I would've bought it anyway. I listen to it every day!
