I love the idea of this CD being "green". It just seems like a half hearted attempt at a great cd. The songs are just OK. Not bad but not great. Jack's music is all starting to sound the same. He needs to change it up a little. Get creative. Free Music Review: cooler than cool

Thanks, Jack, for another smooth record. Not quite as catchy as the first couple albums. Which is fine with me, it means it will last longer in my playlist. This album and The Mango Tree are my new favorites albums.Free Music Review: Good buy, but outshined by past albums

In theory, this should be a slam dunk for Jack Johnson, incorporating more eclectic instrumentation and still writing chill island-inspired melodies. But when I sit and listen to Sleep Through the Static, I just find myself wanting to switch albums and listen to Brushfire Fairytales, Posters, Taylor, and so many of his other past hits that so outshine his recent album that I almost regret purchasing it. But, on the other hand, I wouldn't have missed buying Sleep Through the Static, if only to support one of my favorite singer-songwriters of all time, and to glean what little inspiration it does have to offer. It is still a really solid album.Free Music Review: Great CD
