Free Music Notes for The Very Best of Jackson Browne

Free Music Review: Vastly Improved Over Previous "Hits" Collection
Hit: 5 Stars

First of all, I would give this a 4.5; I am curving it up because I took Browne's previous collection to task for missing songs like "Here Come Those Tears Again" and numerous other classic hit staples. This collection is wonderful as it stands, including such gems as "Redneck Friend," "The Load Out" and "Lawyers in Love".

As other reviewers have noted, "That Girl Could Sing" is missing from this set. The only other song I wish had made it would be "The Crow on the Cradle" which was the B side of the single "Somebody's Baby". Still, these are minor complaints. This is a wonderful career-spanning collection and the sound quality is magnificent.

Free Music Review: The best compilation I've heard!
Hit: 5 Stars

Okay, I miss "That Girl Could Sing" too, but other than that--man, what a bang for your twenty bucks. This 32 song set is a must have! I am 37, started really getting into music at 10 or 11. Most of my friends missed this era in favor of the eighties stuff. Their loss. Brings back memories of laying in the floor on a Saturday afternoon, blaring the headphones with your eyes closed. Jackson Browne is one of those guys who has been around forever and has always been such an overlooked talent. I hope this compilation brings him a new generation of fans. "I am a Patriot" is such a moving anthem and sadly, so timely. Thank you thank you, Jackson!

Free Music Review: A WONDERFUL collection of Jackson Browne!
Hit: 5 Stars

THIS is is the Jackson Browne complilation to get! Forget about "The Next Voice You Hear- The Best Of Jackson Browne", this one is 100% better and is the most complete complilation of JB you can get, to date! All of his great songs are here and some special gems, as well! The sound is wonderful and it's just perfect, really. My only complaint would be that the packaging is TOO flimsy, they really should have just used a standard jewel case, just be careful when you open it, the discs could easliy fall out. I highly recommend this to any Jackson Browne fan, or fan of 70's-80's rock!

Free Music Review: Great Anthology Of A Truly Righteous Rocker
Hit: 5 Stars

THE VERY BEST OF JACKSON BROWNE is a great anthology of Browne's best work from throughout his career. Over the course of 32 songs, you can hear him age gracefully from the innocence of the early days through his politically-edged work of the mid-to-late-80s, to the more mature work of his later years. Browne's belief, shared with most rockers of his generation, that the young Australian tourist jailed in Indonesia since 2005 on drug-smuggling charges was unjustly convicted makes THE VERY BEST OF JACKSON BROWNE an essential purchase for both your ears AND your conscience.

Free Music Review: What is the correct song listing?
Hit: 5 Stars

I have to give the music five stars, and I have to agree with others that the packaging would have been better had they used a standard jewel case.

The biggest mystery seems to be the track listing. It appears that some people did indeed get "That Girl Could Sing" instead of "Lawyers In Love" on their discs. Now, to add to the confusion, the TV commercial offering this same compilation claims to contain BOTH "That Girl Could Sing" and "Lawyers In Love".

Does anyone have any information that could clarify this confusion?
