Free Music Notes for Peter Pan [Original Motion Picture Soundtrack]

Free Music Review: A Must Have...
Hit: 5 Stars

I just got the DVD of Peter Pan 2 days ago, and have absolutely fallen in love with it. When I saw it in theatres, I couldn't get the main theme out of my head, so I knew that I must have the soundtrack. I now absolutely love it! My favorite songs are "Flying", "Learning to Fly", and "Peter Returns." Being a violinist, I can now say that I would love to play the music for this film. James Newton Howard did an excellent job, and he deserves some sort of reward for this! After seeing the movie again, I can find only one flaw. The huge violin solo at the end of "Flying" (the main theme) is played WAY to much! Don't get me wrong, it is absolutely beautiful, but they really need to tone it down just a bit. For those of you who do not have the sound track, here's where they play it : When the childen are flying to Neverland, when Tinkerbell comes back to life, when Peter turns all pink and flies around, when the boat is being carried by fairies, and when Peter flies away at teh very end. See what I mean? Anyway, It is a great soundtrack that you really need to have.

Free Music Review: JNH Scores Another Hit....But Cuts Are Too Short
Hit: 5 Stars

I rented the video expressly for the music. I would have bought the CD sooner than the video came out,but from the (very too short) samples on Amazon, I couldn't figure out if I would like the score.

Well, I LOVED it! Movie not so great, but Mr. Howard's angelic, soaring score (much like the magnificent "Dinosaur") was what I had hoped it would be. My favorite was #12-I Do Believe In Fairies. Like others have said, the pieces were out of order. #12 came before Poison and Please Don't Die when it should have come last because Tinker Bell was poisoned, died, and everyone chanting I Do Believe In Fairies brought her back. No problem, glad it was just included on the CD.

I wish the pieces had been longer too. Also, the 10 minute long end title piece was ommitted. That was a gorgeous piece, so beautiful I listened to the end titles on the video over and over for an hour. I may have to buy the video and somehow tape the end titles on a regular tape recorder, background noise and all. Please Mr.Howard, include ALL of your wonderful music on your CD's when possible.

Final verdict: Buy it!

Free Music Review: Come Away...Come Away to Neverland...
Hit: 5 Stars

What an amazing soundtrack! The music is filled with the innocence, magic, and excitement that is tailor made for Peter Pan. Notable tracks are Fairy Dance, Flying, and Peter Returns. A good companion to John Williams' Hook, but set apart on it's own. Both are worthy of Peter. While the drums in the background of tracks like "Flying" and "Please Don't Die" could be done without, the rest of the CD is too good to be spoiled be the small moments of pop culture. The bells are magical, the flutes right on, and the overall spirit is amazing.

For those upset by the lack of chronological order, here is the "correct" order of play,

1. Main Title
5. Is That a Kiss?
6. Peter's Shadow
7. A Note from the Teacher
4. Tinkerbell
3. Learning to Fly
2. Flying
10. Fetch Long Tom
8. Build a House Around Her
9. Come Meet Father
11. Mermaids
13. Set Them Free
12. Fairy Dance
15. Poison
16. Please Don't Die
14. I Do Believe in Fairies
17. Flying Jolly Roger
18. Peter Returns

I hope you find this helpful!

Free Music Review: Love it!
Hit: 5 Stars

This CD is wonderful! I watched the movie Peter Pan not to long ago and immediately fell in love with the music. I am a big soundtrack fan. After only seeing it once I was humming the music as I got ready in the morning. Once I saw it two, three, four times, I realized I needed the CD! I listened to some sample tracks and read some reviews and made my mom rush me out to the store so I could buy it. I really do love it. It is wonderful music that is perfect for the film. Everything about it is perfect, you hear it and right off the bat you think of Peter Pan. I was humming one of the songs in school the other day and my friend who hasn't seen the movie said, "Is that from Peter Pan? It sounds like it would be." I have listened to it almost nonstop since I bought it. Oh, one other little thing...the pictures inside the cover are really nice! There are some nice big ones of Jeremy Sumpter! But I'm not writing this to talk about how cute Jeremy is...it is a wonderful CD that I recommend 100%. If you liked the movie and your a fan of music this CD is a must have!

Free Music Review: It's Time to Believe
Hit: 5 Stars

It would sometimes seem that our world, "a world of wars", over every individual thought and feeling a human can contain might overtake our own sense of peace these days.
There are many mediums that give us knowledge and serenity, that we still seem to look on for more. Movies are probably one of our favorites for making us feel so much in so little time.
If you are in need of a "quick fix" to make your day a WHOLE lot brighter and really would like to spend a little time somewhere else than where you are right now then..."It's Time To Believe."
Let everything that is in your mind go for just a few hours. Let your heart lead you on a journey of adventure, beauty, and love. This movie and all that makes it great are all you need to FLY!!
The soundtrack is incredible, the visual sets, costumes, and cast are an absolute breathtaking delight. You are guaranteed to feel a whole lot more positive after watching this film. It makes you feel the spectrum of emotions and all you need to do is "Believe"!
