Free Music Notes for Peter Pan [Original Motion Picture Soundtrack]Free Music Review: Most beautiful soundtrack Hit: 5 Stars
This soundtrack...wow!
I've only been moved to purchase a scant few soundtracks in my lifetime ("Star Wars", "Indiana Jones", "Gladiator", Rachel Portman's "Emma", the Harry Potter series, "High Spirits"..."Legend" [by Tangerine Dream, not the one currently available on Amazon]).
I downloaded this soundtrack online while I was watching the rental of the Peter Pan dvd (I also purchased the dvd while watching the rental!). This is a truly spectacular soundtrack that I listen to over and over. It has the same magical quality and beauty that (dare I say it??) may even surpass John Williams' Harry Potter soundtracks.
My favorite track is "Fairy Dance", and I also love "Flying". They have both made their way to my "On the Go" feature of my iPod. The music invokes an audio feast, much as the film indulges in eye candy.
If you even just LIKE the film, do yourself a favor and purchase the soundtrack...if you love the film, you'll not be sorry to listen to the music over and over.
Free Music Review: Pure Magic! Hit: 5 Stars
I finally bought this CD. I have been waiting since Christmas to get it. I saw the movie and stayed through the credits to listen to the music for as long as I could. I told my cousin that the movie was so great and one of the reasons was the music and she saw it and totally agreed with me. This soundtrack has to be, by far, one of the best I own. The music is just so great and enchanting. I love the bells and chimes throughout the songs. And the main theme that runs through the songs is so soft and sweet. I love it. My favorite songs are: 01) Main Title 02) Flying 04) Tinkerbell 12) Fairy Dance 14) I Do Believe in Fairies 18) Peter Returns The entire CD is great, but if I skip around at all while listening to it those are the songs I get to. The only thing I didn't like about this soundtrack is the fact that the songs are not in the order in which they appear in the movie.
Free Music Review: Excellent score! Howard strikes again! Hit: 5 Stars
I have enjoyed the work of James Newton Howard for several years, beginning with his score for the Fugitive, but it was not until the last 4 or 5 years that I feel that Howard has come into his own. With stirring scores for Atlantic, Dinosaur and especialy Treasure Planet, Howard has advanced quickly through the ranks of other composers to begin to emerge as one of the elite in the movie business. His score for Peter Pan enhances an already great resume. His work on Peter Pan perfectly matches with movie with light and fun themes interchanging with dark swashbuckling music and an adventurous themes, and of course his wonderful and beautiful flying music. His flying theme is truly a masterpiece, a soaring melody that puts the listener in the clouds with the characters on screen. I rate Howard's Peter Pan very highly and consider it to be among the most enjoyable of scores to listen to.
Free Music Review: Just beautiful, incredible Hit: 5 Stars
After my third trip to the theater to see this film, I found myself humming tunes from the score -- and that's when I knew I needed to buy this CD. And so I did. It's exceptional; it has made me remember how wonderful James Newton Howard is. It is also helping me from going absolutely crazy waiting for the film to be released on DVD. As far as I know, this CD contains every piece of music that is used in the film (NOT in the exact order, but almost). Track #2 (the music from when they're flying to Neverland) and #14 ("I do believe in fairies!") are my two absolute favorites, but the others are great too. I have listened to this CD at least two dozen times, in full, since purchasing it. It's calming when you want it to be, but also thrilling -- and it's a great CD for any fan of good movie music OR the film.
Free Music Review: Compilation is excellent Hit: 5 Stars
I love soundtracks, and by far this is the best one I have ever listened to. You can get lost in the wonderfully composed music. It takes you back to the movie in every way. I can hear Peter's voice, and I can picture the movements they make as I sit back and listen to the songs. For anyone who enjoys music, this is a beautiful and extraordinary score to listen to. I would definately recommend this to everyone, even if you haven't seen the movie. Just picturing the movements from the movie is as good, if not better, then being taken back to the movie. The emotion that James Newton Howard put into the music is amazing, and its emotion that you can feel. Both the suspense and the excitement are beautifully mastered in the songs. This is a perfect soundtrack to an even better movie.
