Free Music Notes for One Man Band [CD + DVD]Free Music Review: Passing on a love of JT's work Hit: 5 Stars
I'm a lover of James Taylor's music and have most of his albums. When I saw this concert on TV, I knew I needed to get it for a granddaughter who plays guitar and writes/sings her own music. I gave her the DVD of the show, and I kept the music CD. Thus, we both get to enjoy the album/show. I can only hope she will get as much pleasure from it as I have--even though I have most of the songs on other albums.
Free Music Review: A Must Have Hit: 5 Stars
This is a great collection of James Taylor recorded in an intimate setting. No big instrumental group or backup vocalists. It's pure James Taylor, without anyone to hide behind. You have the CD if you just want to listen, or a separate DVD if you want to watch the concert. I love having two discs, because I put double-sided discs in upside down all the time. A "must have" if you like James Taylor.
Free Music Review: Worthy of a Grammy Hit: 5 Stars
Among the best live collections of songs JT has ever done - if not the best. He has a fantastic band but just him, his guitar, and his keyboard player gives a fresh perspective to some of his old, classic songs as well as some not so old songs. Some of the background he gives on the songs makes some of the old seem new again. One of my favorite collections of songs from any artist.
Free Music Review: I like some tracks better than their original recordings Hit: 5 Stars
I have most of JT's albums, and I love them. When I listened to this album, I was nearly moved to tears by this album's recordings of "Never Die Young", "My Traveling Star", "Copperline", and "You Can Close Your Eyes". These arrangements with only guitar and piano have a much more intimate feeling than the original recordings with a full band. Wish I would have seen this show live.
Free Music Review: Another Amazing Album from the Master Hit: 5 Stars
I don't really think much needs to be said about the amazing yet humble man that is James Taylor. What I especially loved about the CD was that some of the quips Taylor used in the live audience that was present during taping made their way into the song intros as well, giving you a glimpse of the light-hearted and thankful nature (and again, humble) of this one-of-a-kind artist.
