First introduction - Sonora Desert - 70 miles an hour - two great friends...blew my mind. Music cracked through the exoskeleton and set my mind and soul ablaze. Still has that same effect 15 years later...power, intensity, the crytal scalpel releasing the inner zen...one MUST eat the other, what bitter irony. If your worthy, this is some of the most challenging, intellectual-emotionally artistic music out there. It will create magnificant backdrops in the mind. I listened to this again the other day to cleanse myself after being exposed to dangerously high levels of Pearl Jams 'Ten'. It worked wonders. 'Ritual' is a stunning album that really needs to be in your collection if you call yourself a fan of music. Its a timeless classic, full of awe-inspiring songs. 'Three Days', 'Then She Did' and 'Of Course' and 'Classic Girl' are some of the most beautiful music my ears have ever heard. The funkier songs, like 'Obvious' are also brilliant. Listening to this album again, I wondered just why Dave Navarro has descended into... well, I can't say it. In short: ignore Pearl Jam. Get this. Then get 'Nothings Shocking'. This was a classic that can never be duplicated. I go back to 1991 when I hear tracks off this album and it gives me goose-bumps. I used to cover the song Three Days in an old band. I prefer the album "Nothing's Shocking" as a personal favorite but "Ritual..." is a must-have to your collection as well. I was one of the many deeply saddened by the disbanding of Jane's. Most people are aware of Porno for Pyros (Farrell and Perkins) but Dave Navarro and Eric Avery put out and album entitled "Deconstruction" that is unbelievable. Eric A. also had a project called "Polar Bear". Jane's Addiction was one of the best band's of all time.Free Music Review: Their best

This is the best Jane's addiction album period.It blends world music with hard rock to create a truly original album.Songs 6,7,8 and 9 are the album's best.But the first half is also awesome.Pick it up if your a fan.You won't be dissapointed.Thanks.
