Free Music Review: Grew on me in time
Hit: 5 Stars

O.K look, I first didnt like the album that much but it gets alot of play here in Detroit, so Im used to it now,and if yu really like janet then I think you will too, but if you've only bought one or two janet albums, I really wouldnt recomend you picking this up, unless your like the whole futreistic tone in most music, and in that case id also recomend it. I'll go through all of the songs and give my personal, opinion and reflection of stars by track number.

2.Feedback-opening single, it grew on me within a few days of listening it really is a good song, just gotta give it a chance. I give it 3/5 stars

3.Luv-BEST SONG ON THE ALBUM without a doubt, its catchy, the words are alright, and the beat is really cool because it seems like they surround her voice, great to dance to. I give it 5/5 stars

5.Rollercoaster-The song is really really good (if you like R&B dance music) its really cool that it has african drums, thats something janets never done. 5/5 stars

7.Rock wit u- I really really didnt like this song because Im not into techno, and the robotic "I want to rock wit u" that changes tones and pops in everywhere is very annoying, I also listened to this song alot and it grew on me too, it took way longer than feedback, I've been listening to this song since January and it JUST NOW is starting to sound good, and i commend her for trying something she's never done before, whether or not I like it,3/5 stars

8.2nite- Quite possibly one of the best Janet Jackson songs ever. To me it sounds like a mix between Princ's Contraversy and her R&B junkie, which makes it an awsome song its really cool and laid back, and its one of those songs Janet uses her true singing voice which is pretty good. 5/5 stars

9.Cant be good- Its a laid back groove song thats familiar on everyone of janets albums from 1982-2008 and in that sense i really do like it, because its just cool like that. 4/5 stars

11.Never Letchu Go- The sterio-typical Jermaine Dupri ballad, Im refuring to the fact that it sounds like Usher's "Let it burn", and Mariah's "we belong together", and etc. but all in all its a good song. 3/5 stars

13. Greatest X- Nice song, but not remberble, at least not by me, but its still nice. if it were a single it'll be ok for R&B, 2/5 stars

15. So Much Betta-Very cool song, something extremely different, and new for janet. its cool how she does the robot voice. I think if it were a single i think it'll do alright 4/5stars

17. The 1 feat. Missy-3rd best song on the album, the songs cool, good to dance to, and catchy. but Missy is the cherry on top that makes the song great, if it were a single i think it'd do well, 4/5 stars

18. What's Ur Name- very acustic R&B, like some of her other stuff on previous albums since janet. It'd be a good single 5/5stars

20. Discipline -The most sexual janet song since would you mind, in my opinion, but its good, its faster than her last few sexual tracks.

22. Curtains- alas we come to the only song on the album that dosent do squat for me, its cool, but not all that, but I still think its a alright janet song I really hope this never becomes a single 1/5 stars.

yep so the albums moderately good, in my personal opinion its better than Damita Jo and not as good as 20 Y.O. but I cant speak for everyone, thats just me, you might like it, you might not. but before reviewing it you should atleast listen to the full album.

Free Music Review: AYO JANET! IT'S ALL GOOD!
Hit: 5 Stars

i pre-ordered this album. and received it the exact day it was released. i was so hype to listen to janet's new album. and all i have to say is THAT THIS ALBUM IS GREAT! i know a lot of people are quick to dis janet and her music......we all know why.....secret stans in denial. but this is a well put together album. the producers janet worked with on this album are Stargate, Neyo, JD, Darkchild, Tricky Stewart, The Dream and Johnta Austin. for those skeptical of janet's new album.....it's way better than you'd think it is. the songs are great and upbeat for the most part. only three are slow jams "never letchu go", "greatest x" and "discipline". and for those looking for the baby making joint....there's only one.....depending on your feel there's two. the main one is the title track "discipline" and the second, more light joint is "curtains".....oh and depending on which version of the album you get there's a third one called "let me know". it's very cute and enjoyable. there are the house records...."rock with u", "2nite". then there are the more hip hop fused joints "rollercoaster", "luv", "what's ur name", "the 1 feat. missy elliot" and "curtains". now the joint feat missy...which is the only collabo on the whole album, is very funky. the verses by missy are entertaining and janet is well..... awesome. first lines you hear are missy "tell me how long is it boo, 7 inches...yep that'll do!". haha....just light and entertaining. the beat knocks hard like most of the hip hop joints. then there are the rnb joints "cant b good" "greatest x" and "never letchu go". for those chi-town steppers you'll fall in love with "cant b good" produced by ne-yo. it's very mellow and soulful. you'll love it. "greatest x" is janet reminiscing on an ex-love who was the best of the bunch.....but she's not trying to get back with them. "never letchu go" is a ballad to the love of her life......saying she wants this whole relationship to work.....and how this love means so much to her. gotta love that. there is this ridiculously funky joint on the album....i wished it was longer....called "so much better". it's a sample from daft punk's "daftendirekt". the beat is so funky....also the robotic friend of janet, who appears in the intro and outro and a couple other interludes and "let me know", "kyoko" is rapping on this song. might sound crazy but that's because it was.....IT WAS MAD CRAZY...IN A GOOD WAY. I LOVE THIS JOINT. when you listen to this you'll imagine the music video for it immediately. this is a very fun, futuristic and funky album. you will have this entire album on repeat. you might wanna buy two copies cuz you'll burn through the first one....haha. it is CLASSIC JANET WITH A MODERN TWIST. I HOPE YOU GUYS SUPPORT HER AND COP THAT ALBUM....BUT DON'T STOP THERE....GET THE WHOLE CATALOG......YOU'LL BE GLAD YOU DID. 1

Free Music Review: Discipline Is FIYA!!
Hit: 5 Stars

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!!!!! JANET 2008!!!!! EVERY TRACK I LOVE, CANNOT PICK OUT A FAVORITE OR A TOP 10.. THEY ARE ALL MY FAVORITE!!!! JANET IS BRINGING IT HOME THIS YEAR!!!! A MUST HAVE ALBUM IN YOUR COLLECTION!

Billboard review of the album:
"Luv" - In contention to be the next single, this track sounds like a cross between Chris Brown's "With You" and Cherish's "Do It To It," aka very youth-like. On it, Janet is doing her usual whisper/talking/singing layered vocals over double drums, cooing "Got me caught in a web/I'm a mess."

"Feedback" - Although this track, which is the first single, took some time to grow on folks, the beat - not to mention the video - is pretty insane. The clubs are Luving it! This song will continue to grow and move through out the world.

"This Can't Be Good" - THIS song should be the next single, hands down. Everything from the piano intro to the rolling bassline on "Good" is reminiscent of old Janet i.e. "That's the Way Love Goes" and "Anytime, Any Place," which we love. This track was written by Ne-Yo (kudos!).

"Rock With You" - The intro to this dance track features a robotic-sounding Janet saying the title over once. J.I. thinks this Madonna-esque song will be a favorite in the downtown clubs of N.Y. It features running piano keys, hard drums and layered vocals.

"Tonight" - This club/dance track is super flirty, this is a good look for Janet. "Something in the air has got me feeling like I want I tonight," she belts in the chorus. In other parts, Ms. Jackson sings, "Don't want to be alone / I need you to keep me warm... My body's here / I'm soaking wet / I wanna give you something that you won't forget."

"The Greatest Ex" - Typical Dream riffs are noticeable on the set, including a few repetitions and scattered "eghs." "I loved you and you loved me / I just couldn't see tomorrow," Janet sings over bass drums and slow running piano strokes. J.I. thought Janet's vocal ability sounded the best on this track so far. Wil be this summers anthem!

"Discipline" - On the sultry track, Janet sings, "I touch myself even though you told me not to / I can smell me on your sheets / I can taste you on my skin." Hot yet? There's more. "Now I want you to come punish me / I need some discipline tonight / I've been very bad / Daddy, make me cry." Still not feeling tingly? How about, "Did I make you mad? / Take out your frustrations on me," which leads to the grand finale of Janet's heavy breathing and sexual cooing, a la Intro on "Come Inside." Straight steamy!

"Rollercoaster" - This Darkchild-produced song starts with what appears to be African drums. The beat is big, full of thumping bass line and Swizz Beatz-like adlibs.

Free Music Review: DISCIPLINE IS AMAZINGLY 5 Stars

I am not sure who these people are who are here giving negative posts on the lady, but maybe they are superbowl leftover losers or just plain haters.........Anyway, I LOVE JANET and she IS BACK and HOTTER THAN EVER!!!! This is an amazing album and you would have to be a mummy wrapped up in so much tape that you just dont' have a rhythmic bone in your body or you just probably can't dance if you don't feel that there are no danceable tracks on this start with FEEDBACK, I love the beat, I love the vocals and i love the video and I understand the video better because the DVD has the director S.A.A.M. who produced the video and explains more about the theme of the video, it was very interesting and way different than most thought!!!! I love the space concept and I am not sure what people want a LEGEND to pull out of their hat who has bascially span over 2 decades and has stood the test of time unlike so many others who have fell clean off the map.

The Album is amazing and yes there are Interludes and I love them because they make you laugh and it's not just your typical boring album that has just song after song and nothing more. "2NITE" is one of my favorite tracks on the album and has a very well crafted Hook that will get anyone who can dance up and dancing and I love the harmonies and they sound amazing on my HD surround system!!!!!!
Can't Be Good is a very Brilliantly written ballad has that MJ quality to its style. The Very provocative main track DISCIPLINE, written by NE-Yo is a a very Sexy track that hints back to "Anytime Anyplace" with a more Aggressive feel. The1 is very hip hop and has Missy with her very smooth rapping style, and Janet sounds great!!!! "So Much Betta" is just a fun track and very club Danceable!!!! LUV is a very nice track as well and I am really starting to feel ROCK WITH U!!!!!!!

I recommend the Album to any fans who know what Dance is about. The DVD has a very interesting look at how Janet shoots the promos and shows her in the studio as well as rehearsing for the Video and also includes the video "FEEDBACK" and the behind the scenes footage.

IF I COULD GIVE THE ALBUM 10 stars I would!!!!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!!! it is now 2008 and people are still trying to hate, Janet already went number one so stop hating on her Music Review: Janet is back with a FRESH, feel-good sound!
Hit: 5 Stars Janet has described "Discipline" as "Classic 'me' with a modern twist," a description that is right on the money. After 20 years of working with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Janet branches out on this new album to work with a slate of new producers. The result is an album of flawlessly-produced and infectiously-catchy tracks that feels fresher than anything Miss Jackson has done since "The Velvet Rope" back in 1997. I tend to skip tracks quite a bit on albums (even new ones), but "Discipline" is the type of album that makes you want to listen from beginning to end. (I've listened to the album 3 times already with no skips.) Each of the tracks is an aural treat, but, thus far, the standout tracks for me are:
- "Luv": An incredibly catchy, bubbly confection of a song that sounds as bright as a summer afternoon. Clever lyrics parallel falling in love to getting an a car accident.
- "Rollercoaster": One of the most inventive tracks I've heard on a pop album in recent memory. Jackson's layered harmonies are used to their best and most playful effect on this track.
- "2Nite": A 100% solid "Janet" dance track that has an 80's feel with a futuristic overlay. Makes you wanna get up an dance (or at least tap your feet!). I can smell the club remixes already ...
- "So Much Betta": The hook on this is like "crack" for the ears! The sexy, boppy beat sucks you in and gets you bobbing your head like crazy. Leaves you wanting more!
- "The 1": Janet and Missy Elliot have great chemistry on this track. Missy's trippy rapping style is a perfect complement to the electro-funk feel of the song.
- "Discipline": This is set to become a classic Janet "baby-making" song. This sensual grinder of a slow-jam is perfect blend of sexiness and vulnerability.
- "Curtains": A jazzy, groovy track with harmonies that will rope you in from the first note.
In all, "Discipline" is a melodically-inventive marvel that is sure to become one of the "must have" albums of 2008. The fresh feel of the production, lyrical content, and harmonies on this album are sure to bring many a "former" Janet fan back into the fold, while preserving that essential kernel of "classic" Janet that will keep long-time fans coming back for more.
