Free Music Review: Maybe because it's so hard to find...
Hit: 5 Stars
...but this is one of my favorite albums. It is definitely better than her first. My favorite songs are Dream Street, Two To the Power Of Love and If It Takes All Night, but all the songs are cool, they have that great 80s feeling in it and that was the best decade of music. In fact the songs remind me of some Donna Summer songs (it's no wonder since one of Dream Street's producers is Giorgio Moroder). In a few words, Dream Street is something like "half Jackson and half Donna Summer". It is better and more mature than Janet's first album."Don't Stand Another Chance" and "Dream Street", two of the album's highlights, have catchy beats & good lyrics. The album also has its beautiful ballad, like the "Janet Jackson" album had "Forever Yours": it is a duet with Cliff Richard, called "Two To The Power of Love", a lovely song that is even better than Forever Yours.
The cover sleeve has more pics than the first album, it has that beautiful pic of Janet in pink sweater, that's one of my fave photos. There's also a cute pic of Janet with her niece Autumn dressed alike, and there is also a pic of the Jackson brothers. If you ordered it from Japan then it also contains the song lyrics in English and in Japanese but I guess the English version was written down by Japanese folks and they didn't understand half of the words. :o)
Anyway this is a pretty good album and should have been more successful. It would be even better if it included Start Anew and French Blue but nothing can be perfect.
