Free Music Review: This is how I would write music...if I had talent

Finally a male artist who admits that sometimes love and other people are sucky in general. Jaron's style may not fit into just one genre but that is a good thing in my book. I like that sometimes it is typical country sound and sometimes it is something I can't even quite identify but I like it. While "Pray for You" is the song bringing him all the attention, my personal favorites are "Meantime Girl" and "I Hope You Hit Traffic". "Meantime Girl" just speaks to that random trait that most of us have but never fess up to where you people watch (in this case, in traffic) and invent a story with those people. Plus it is sweet and fun to listen to with its' upbeat tempo and general good natured lyrics. As for "I Hope You Hit Traffic" it is just genius writing as far as I'm concerned. For all those dippy people that make the rest of our species look bad by saying things like "I need to find myself" and "It's not you, it's me". This song recounts the cliches that go along with these stupid excuses people give to leave a relationship and then pokes fun at the person leaving by wishing they..you guessed it...hit traffic. It holds much the same comedic honesty that "Pray for You" does and always makes me smile when the track kicks on in the car. I wish the bonus pre-order track from iTunes was on the album, but since I got that track via iTunes I can't complain except that I wish "Happy for You" was on the cd so I could laugh along with it in the car. In summary, preview the songs, branch out from the current single and try his other tracks and then tell me you don't love it. If you think some of it is mean spirited you are missing the point of the album entirely. These songs are a good reflection of those things you wish you had said to someone but didn't, both good, bad, sarcastically witty, etc.
