Free Music Review: A Great Soundtrack

This soundtrack was just as good as the movie back in a time when to me soundtracks was really matched with the concept of the movie. This soundtrack had a great blend of hip hop and r&b with the B.M.U(Black Men United) with the classic song "You Will Know" which was produced by D'Angelo before he debut a year later. Also, the Whitehead Brothers song "Forget I Was A 'G'", LL Cool J makes an appearance with "Candyman" which I think was one of his better hits off of a soundtrack. Mint Condition and legendary guitarist Albert Collins collab with one of my favorite songs from the album "If Trouble Was Money", K-Ci of Jodeci makes his only solo effort on this soundtrack with the Bobby Womack classic "If You Think You're Lonely" which is a classic top 5 remake of all-time. After J-Quest's song, the soundtrack shifts to the west coast for some g-funk like the Five Footaz "Walk Away", my man LSD from West Covina, CA with "Money Is The Key" produced by QDIII(one of the best producers), D.R.S. makes an appearance in which this is the last time I have heard from them with "Ain't No Love". Brian McKnight's song is the song that really was the star of the album that the radio stations got a hold with "Crazy Love"(another remake), then the CD goes back to the west coast g-funk from Ahmad to Jayo Felony's "Brothers & Sisters" produced by the late Jam Master Jay. The legendary Buddy Guy comes with it on "This City Needs Help", the only thing I didn't like about that song was that it was too short. Spice 1 & Scarface round out the rap portion, then the CD ends with a great number by Oleta Adams with "Many Rivers To Cross". This soundtrack was very diversed but it had a great urban and inner city feel. When you listen to this CD, it feels like you just traveling the inner cities and seeing what is going on but you don't usually see that man and woman walking down the street holding hands and are deeply in love and willing to make a sacrifice for one another. If you don't have this soundtrack pick it up and you'll see what I am talking about.
