Free Music Notes for Waiting for My Rocket to ComeFree Music Review: Perfection Hit: 5 StarsFinally the perfect album by the perfect artist with an absolutlely perfect voice. Jason Mraz is an exeptional singer/ songwriter. This is the ONLY album that I own that I can just put on, and just leave it alone. There's no need to skip over any songs because they're all good. No two songs are alike. If you're seeking out this album because of the song "The Remedy" be prepapred becuase the rest of the songs on "Waiting for my Rocket to Come" are all just as good as this song. And some are even better! Is that possible? Well, you'll see...
Free Music Review: full of surprises Hit: 5 StarsI bought this album because I thought The Remedy was a fun, catchy song. I was pleasantly surprised with how incredibly versatile Jason Mraz is. On this CD the Virginia native has his finger in many pies. Some of the songs are smooth and sweet, one has a reggae feel, one features rapping in a way only Mraz could do it, and yet another starts off with blaring brass reminiscent of the 1970's. As if this melange of styles isn't impressive enough, he has something else going for him: he has a beautiful, melodic voice as well.
With all these fathers in his cap it is strange that this very talented artist never got to be more successful. Then again, maybe it is this very versatility that goes against him. It can be difficult to categorize Mraz into one musical bracket, which listeners tend to do, but it would be a mistake to do so.
Another amazing thing about this disc is the assortment of instruments featured on it. In addition to the standard guitar, bass, and drums there is a ukelele, a sythesizer, a slide guitar, an organ, a banjo, a clavinet, a tambourine, and a shaker.
The variety of instruments and the versatility of Mraz provide for a rich, deep, accomplished CD. Spread your wings and give this one a listen!
Free Music Review: Wonderful transition from coffee shop to the record store Hit: 5 StarsJason Mraz is an incredibly dynamic performer whose ability to scat, improvise, and just flat out deliver a killer performance is hard to match these days. Being a Mraz junky for several years now, I much prefer his live performances, but his first studio album was a welcome surprise.
Give this dude a try - he'll certainly not let you down.
Free Music Review: Never too late to own it! Hit: 5 StarsTo be a singer, first of all, you have to be able to sing. Yes, sing, not scream, nor murmur. There is no doubt about that Jason Mraz CAN sing. His vocal is so unbelievable strong and the voice is yet so tender and sweet. Plus, all songs are written and produced perfectly. You won't hear those usuall made-for-cartoon like pop songs here. 5 stars to it!
Free Music Review: i love jason Hit: 5 StarsWhen i grow up i want to marry Jason Mraz. I have probably listened to his cd a thousand times in the three years i have been listening to him. I love his live stuff and was dissapointed by his album. I would say that he is my all time fav artist and i have seen him twice live. AWESOME!! Get the live CD and be blown away.
