Free Music Notes for We Sing, We Dance, We Steal ThingsFree Music Review: Jason Mraz is AMAZING!! Hit: 5 Stars
This is the first CD of Mr. Mraz's that I have owned, & I am truly obsessed with it! My love for his music began a month or so ago, when I was given the link to his "I'm Yours" video. That song is such a fun, upbeat song, I was hooked immediately (& I can't imagine anyone NOT liking it)! As far as the over-all CD is concerned, the more I listen to it, the more I am impressed with Jason's talent as a songwriter/singer/musician! His talent & virsatility are truly incredible! I agree with another reviewer who said that he is right up there with Elton John & Billy Joel as far as his talent is concerned, & hopefully, one day will be recognized as such! FYI -- I am a 52 yr. old female, so I think that his music appeals to a variety of people & ages. Both of my daughters who are in their 20's also love Jason's music! BUY this CD - it will be the best one you've bought/heard in a long time -- you will truly enjoy it - guaranteed! Thank you so much Jason Mraz for sharing with us your amazing talent & fabulous music!
Free Music Review: Jason Mraz: I'm yours baby! Hit: 5 Stars
What goes up must come down, right? Well no-one has told that to Mr A-Z, cos his albums deliver every single time.
Stand outs on this album for me are: I'm yours, Lucky, Butterfly, Love for a Child & Beautiful Mess. And yet put each song on repeat for a couple of times and you'll see what a true masterpiece each is in its own right. Mraz really is a lyrical genius, and scats better than anyone else I can name.
This album differs a bit from previous ones by being injected with constant energy (less of the ballads from previous albums), and a bigger sound with more of a Cat Empire style big band sound. Jason's rose coloured world is infectious and if this album doesn't cheer you up when you are feeling down, seek medical advice!
I was a bit of a fan of Jason Mraz before this album, and I am a committed fan since buying it. Can't seem to take it off repeat mode, and no-one at work seems to mind in the slightest. =o)
Free Music Review: Incredible CD!! Hit: 5 Stars
OK, I confess. I am 47 and bought this CD for my son's 14th birthday because he liked the song, "I'm Yours". What I did not expect is that I would take it from him, listen to all the tracks continuously, and enjoy every minute of it! I'm a classic rocker from the 70's and never found today's music especially appealing. But listening to these songs, like "Beautiful Mess", "Live High", and "Lucky" with Colbie Caillat (new wedding song of the era, I guarantee...), I am hooked. These songs have meaning and a soulful rhythm that keep replaying in my head even when the CD is off. While "Butterfly" has lyrics a bit racier than the others -- subliminal until you listen closely -- there is a special something there that speaks to the listener. If you haven't already, take a look at his song videos which reconfirm this guy's talent as an artist / songwriter. Watch out, Bob Seger --- Jason Mraz is the new man in my world!!
Free Music Review: The music of the moment.... and for a lifetime! Hit: 5 Stars
I cannt say enough wonderful things about this album. I've been a die hard fan for years and years. So much went into making this record and it definitely paid off. The wait was worth it. These songs represent Jason so well and its so refreshing when you can hear the artist in their music. I agree with what alot of people have said, seeing him live will change your life and your outlook on music in general. Its amazing.
I thought that his old stuff would always be my favorite and he'd never make anything that I loved as much but Im happy to be proven wrong. Love Of A Child, If It Kills Me, Live High, Make It Mine, Beautiful Mess are all amazing, amazing songs. I DEFINITELY recommend getting the individual EPs of the three, we sing, we dance, we steal things. Theres nothing quite like an acoustic Jason Mraz.
Free Music Review: Excellent album all around Hit: 5 Stars
Radio played the devil out of I'm Yours that's on this album. It's still a good tune. It's got a great hook and is just plain catchy.
How about the rest of the album? Well it's worth staying around to listen to. His band is SMOKIN'. The horns are fabulous and the rhythm section is too. They're tight. Everything just fits together. Jason Mraz is a musician's musician. The guy can sing (beautiful voice) and he can entertain - these can be mutually exclusive, but not in his case. The writing is good. Excellent arrangements, too. The lyrics are very entertaining at times, touching at others.
There are few albums in which the entire album is good. This is one of them.
This album delivers on a lot of albums. I wish I had purchased it sooner.
