Free Music Notes for Collision Course (with DVD)Free Music Review: Shinoda knows what he's doing...great CD Hit: 5 Stars
Listen to this album. Listen to Linkin Park. Listen to Fort Minor. Shinoda can mix like there's no tomorrow. He can rap. He can mix rock with rap. Bringing Jay-Z into the mix is such a great concept and it works. "Numb/Encore" is just sick. The other mixes are also very good. They do a very good job mixing the 2 artists together.
Do NOT buy this album if you're expecting straight Linkin Park mixed with straight Jay-Z. That's not what it is. It's an engineering of songs from both artists to find that common ground. Do NOT buy this album if you don't like rap. You know what? Don't write reviews on this if you don't like rap. That's what this entire album is geared towards. It's done with JAY-Z (a rapper...just for clarification).
If you're into Jay-Z or rap in general, pick this up. It's an awesome collaboration. You won't be disappointed if you understand what you're buying.
Free Music Review: Remember, this is LP AND JZ! Hit: 5 Stars
This is an awesome album, but only If you are a fan of LP and JZ. A lot of people here seem to be quick to judge this cd as Linkin Park gone wrong...but try to realize what this was made to do: meld two different realms of musical genius. The shear fact that they managed to mesh the beats of JZ with the lyrics of LP -- and visa versa -- is completely amazing. If you really get into the songs, the combinations are practically seamless.
If you are pondering the thought of buying this cd, check out the free previews online before you go out and pick it up. Give it a few good listens and try to take it for what it is. If you can get into the music, check out the full cd (with a pretty cool DVD of the live concert) and you'll have fun with it.
It mixes the head-bobbing jams of Linkin Park with the charisma of Jay-Z...how can it not be fun?
Free Music Review: What Reanimation Wished It Could Have Been Hit: 5 Stars
For once a straight Rap/Rock compilation lives up to the hype! The songs featured on Collision Course combine the best parts of the preexisting tunes to create a unique and fresh sound. The choices for which songs to combine are perfect. The best tracks on the album are: Faint/Jigga What, Numb/Encore, and Points of Authority & One Step Closer/99 Problems.
The three aforementioned songs feature incredible vocal arrangements and solid band work with a strong musical arrangement by Mike Shinoda and co. The album overall can be enjoyed by a wide scope of fans. Fans of both Jay-Z and Linkin Park will have a hard time arguing that justice was not done to their artist's songs.
Strongly recommended for those with an interest in rap and the music of Linkin Park.
Free Music Review: Creative Combination Hit: 5 Stars
When I first saw the video with Jay-z and Linkin Park I was kind of lost and honestly I didnt like the idea, but then the song grew on me. A friend of mine picked up this cd and when I heard these songs I was blown away. All of the songs were mixed well and surprisingly sound good together.
I dont have any Linkin Park albums but I am a big fan of Jay-z, the combination of these songs give you a new and refreshing sound. The only downfall was that there were only 6 songs on the cd. It could have been made longer, but I wont be surprised if this is done again.
If you are a Jay-z fan or a Linkin Park fan, then I suggest you go and pick up this album. I havent checked out the DVD so my review is based on the quality of the songs.

Free Music Review: My favourite this year! Hit: 5 Stars
Well, I recently got this CD & DVD and i listened and watched it from the beginning to the end and just loved it. Of course, before I got it, I first heard Numb/Encore and I totally loved it. And because I'm such a big fan of Linkin Park, I just bought this cd, not really knowing what other songs may sound like. And after hearing it for the first time, I loved all the songs. Although Numb/Encore is still my favourite. But that still doesn't mean that other songs are even a bit worse. They're not. They're all great. So just go and get that album. You won't regret it. It doesn't matter how much you like Linkin Park's music. If you like it even a little bit, you'll also like this one, cause Linkin Park just simply rocks!!!
