Firstly, what is with the hate around this album? I can understand the die hard fans of both artists being upset with the other artist being on the record, but I think music is the winner here for partial observers. I'm a huge fan of Jay-Z, but not a big one of Linkin Park. Until now that is.
The original idea was great, but like so many good cross over plans in music, it all could've been lost in the execution. Luckily, nothing was lost here in the execution. Every song boasts equal contributions from both artists, and they compliment each other beautifully, due to the heavy rap influence already in linkin parks music, and jay's ability to rap over anything. This is quality, I definitely recommend it.

im a rap fan and when i got this cd/dvd for Christmas i wasnt sure how good it was gonna be. i always liked jay but never was really sure about the screaming rock thing linkin park does. well i listened to it a few times and i think its amazing. even thought theres only 6 songs i love it. the dvd id good too. i probrably wont ever get another linkin park cd but if them and jay do this again ill definatly get it.

There is no other way to say it a mash up record between one of the best rock bands and the best rapper alive was only genius. The best one has to be DIRT OFF YOUR SHOULDER/LYING FROM YOU. the track BIG PIMPIN/PAPERCUT is good but it is mainly Jay-Z only the first verse of Papercut is on this track my second best is 99 PROBLEMS/POINTS OF AUTHORITY/ONE STEP CLOSER
the dvd is also great you get all 6 tracks live and you get to see the making of this excellent cd. The airing of MTV Ultimate Mash-Ups is on here as a special feature. The only difference between that and the live songs is you hear Linkin Park play IT'S GOING DOWN. I reccomend you buy this

Linkin park and jay-z? I'll admit that even i was a little skeptical, but i love l.p. and jay-z is a top notch artist. I popped it in and instantly fell in love with the five trax. Yes, only five trax, but they speak and jam in friggin' volumes! The l.p. lyrics over a smooth jay-z beat is unlike anything i have ever heard from any other artists. I'm glad these two mashed up and created something that sounds utterly amazing! Even if you're not the biggest jay-z or linkin park fan, you'll mos' definiteely enjoy this album, it rocks to the fullest. And if this anything like fort minor's the rising tied, then i suggest you pick that up, too.Free Music Review: What a pair

Who would imagine this combination, Linkin Park and Jay-Z? I didn't either! After listing to Encore/Numb anyone can see that this blend is a force to be reckoned with. Not only are the six tracks meshed perfectly in order to form musical perfection, but this package deal comes with a DVD as well. I would suggest purchasing this CD/DVD set to anyone who likes Jay Z or Linkin Park alone, or anyone who is up for trying new things. Now that the price has dropped to a reasonable amount, the risk is worth it. My only dislike on this album was the limited number of tracks. Having only six songs total has left this reviewer wanting more!
