Free Music Review: Hot: great concept, great execution

Title says it all. This set is hot. The CD is good -- the DVD showing the making of, and the live show are awesome. I wasn't a Jay-Z fan, but after watching the DVD, I've gained a lot of respect for him. He's talented, and a great complement to Linkin Park.
Others have said it: this is not a remix album, it's not a re-release, it's a mashup. It's an intentional blending of two distinct sounds. It shouldn't be rated in comparison to either act individually. I purchase a lot of music, and this is one of my better purchases in recent memory. Great concept, and flawless execution.

This cd is really good. Jay-z and Linkin Park are polar opposites, but considering that, the music they made together is pretty good. It's something new despite it being just remixed songs. Give it a try, it's not bad not bad at all. In fact it's amazing.
*A previous reviewer commented that Mike had made completely new lyrics in "Points Of Authority / 99 Problems / One Step Closer." That's not completely true. All he did was rap a verse that was in the original "99 Problems" by Jay-z. He changed the point of view so instead of it being in first person view it's in third.

Linkin Park has always been my favorite band and Jay-Z my favorite rapper, so when I heard about this cd I bought it the first day it came out. When I saw it only had six songs I was upset because I wished it would have had more. But since Linkin Park said they didn't want to do another Reanimation type cd with Meteora so that may have something to do with it. But once you listen to it, its like you can't put it down. Its so infectious and addictive. So far I've listened to it every day of this week. Anyway if you want some true rap/rock then I advise you to buy this cd.Free Music Review: the best of the best

I can't believe that LP and Jay-Z didn't do this sooner. I had barely heard of Jay-Z before this, but Linkin Park has always been- and always will be- my #1 band. When I got this CD for a gift, I knew that it would be another LP masterpiece... yet, I never would have imagined that it would become my favorite CD in my collection. This is the ultimate mix of rock and rap, from the powerful vocals of "Dirt Off Your Shoulder/ Lying From You" to the irresistible beat of "Jigga What/ Faint". It would seem Izzo/In the End is the least impressive of the 6 songs but the only reason it reaches 5 stars and beyond is b/c this one song makes it more than just a rock/rap album. This one song sees Linkin Park in a wholly new light, and I mean it...its a lite song. Meanwhile, Linkin Park n Jay drop mo-[...] hot pancakes all over us with the other 5 songs. I NEVER buy CDs and I bought this one b/c its nasty hotness. [...] I like Izzo-In the End the least but somethin about it shows that LP especially can change its [...] up. That some hotness right there...
