whilst any link to electronica is associateded to "spacey" i feel equinoxe is one of jean michels most organic productions.almost on an orchestral level with his father maurice.who for the uninititiated was the composer for 'LAWREENCE OF ARABIA" and more movies.this albun takes on a "greenie" approach to nature long before the term became PC.As we listen to the magnicifent dawm to the undulating summer morn,through to the build up of the thunderstorm crescendo;we are led through to the sreenity of the summer sunset;more akin to ravels bolero,than kraftwerk or tangerine dream.The cover artwork reminds us we are observers of nature as well as its subjects.In this age of concern over climate change ,i dont think we can overlook the gravitas of the oxygene cover art,or just how far ahead of the game this man was musically,or conciously.
