Free Music Review: An important piece for your collection
Hit: 5 Stars

Many electronic musicians has been influenced somehow by this "Mozart" from the synthetizer era. It is the art of creating an organic symphony by mastering the technique of tweaking a synthetic sound wave.
If you have been into electronic music and computers since the 70's , bet you have heard several versions of his music on personal computers like the 8 & 16 bits Commodores (not the poor MIDI conversions found lately for PC's)

I also have a DVD concert and the show is absolutely fascinating as you see dancing fireworks, mind boggling large scale projections and laser-light instruments! many concerts pale in comparision!

This is no New Age, Tecno or anything like that... this is pure and genuine synth music at its best! I got these CDs not only to add value to my music collection, but also as a tribute.

Free Music Review: Oxygen - A MUST HAVE
Hit: 5 Stars

I will put it simply to you... buy this CD... when you get it... put on a headset... light a candle... turn off the lights... and get ready for the best soundtrack that Jean Michel Jarre has ever written! I got my first introduction into his music at the age of only 14... and when I got old enough to purchase my own music... I looked everywhere for it and found only one copy of it in my city! Now with the internet... it is available to everyone! Get yourself a copy of it. It is a very relaxing but yet such a mysterious CD to listen to. Does it tell a story thru all 6 parts? I know the answer and anyone who knows Jean Michel Jarre should know as well... let your mind wander and let the music take you to a whole new world... if you close your eyes and relax... he will paint a very beautiful picture for you.

Free Music Review: Wonderful IntroTo MEHDl
Hit: 5 Stars

I've always enjoyed Jarre and this album is no exception, but while reading some of the customer recommendations posted on this site I discovered a group by the name of MEHDl (pronounced medie). After an online search I found their site (S00THINGMUSIC,C0M) and listened to the samples...
I was instantly blown away by the quality of this music and so I gave it a try and now that I have listened to these CDs several times I really must say that although I'm still a Jarre fan, I find MEHDl to be a great addition to this CD. I have them both in my multi-disc CD player and love the way they compliment each other. I highly recommend that you give this artist a try or atleast just go listen to the samples, I have a feeling you'll be glad you did.

Free Music Review: The crowning of classic electronic music
Hit: 5 Stars

For me Oxygene is the crowning of "classic" electronic. The first time I listened to it I was so absorbed that my rational mind didn't even attempt to make a critical judgment of it, it was just lost. The second time the only thing I thought was "this must have taken the same effort of a symphony to create", and I wasn't even taking into account that it came out in a year that looks like the stone age from here, in term of the technology available to do electronic music.

This music speaks of things that exist in a domain of their own, too important and too frivolous to be expressed in any other way that with music. Like a battle of gods, a love story between ghosts, a joke that the wind tells to the trees.

Free Music Review: Masterpiece of a soundscape you can almost touch
Hit: 5 Stars

Oxygene has and continues to make a large impact on my musical appreciation, even the way I feel, ever since I first heard it back in '76 (when I was only 9). The musical complexity and yet organic and emotional effect it has is quite staggering. You can almost see the waves crashing over the shore; the impression of nature and hi-tech bound together. The "song of the air". Each time I hear it I find a new sound I had missed previously, such is the detail of the composition. Amazing when you consider it was recorded on only eight-track equipment in Jarre's dining room. Definitely best heard through really good headphones, so you get fully emmersed! Take a really deep breath and enjoy...
