I saw Beck in '07 with some old h.s. buddies and we were amazed that not only does he play better now than ever, but that he makes it look so effortless. He used to make it at least look hard. He was really one of my favorite artists during the "Blow by Blow" - "Wired" period. I also wore out "Truth" and I still listen to "Rough and Ready," which is a great, albeit underrated LP. I didn't care as much for his "machine" period. We are going back to see him tonight in Oakland (4/23/09). Will report.Free Music Review: Stunning, jaw-dropping, mesmerizing, awe inspiring, etc...

I very rarely write reviews any more, but I have to say I was mesmerized by Jeff's playing on this set. I haven't listened to any of his music in several years. He is so fluid and creative - a true gift from God. After listening to Satriani for several years and then hearing this concert, it's obvious Jeff must have had a huge influence on Joe. They're both great guitarists, but Jeff has a unique sound that's impossible to replicate. I'd love to have a front row seat at one of his shows.Free Music Review: Freewayjam

A must have for any Jeff Beck fan or Guitar efficianado. Jeff proves again and again why "He is the Man". I purchased the video and CD. The DVD includes some awsome performances along with Eric Clapton and Imogen Heap. Take note of the famous musicians in the crowd. (plant page etc.)Jeff Beck seldom releases video footages of His performances...take advantage! As Clapton described Beck, He pulls the music out of His guitar. Jeff beck is a musician...who happens to play guitar. He can make lyrical poetic passages that mean something...and also blistering fusion runs into the twilight zone. He is one of the very few who can use the whammy bar in a musical way. I'v always enjoyed his playing best when he has a musically compatible keyboardest, such as Jan Hammer or Max Middleton. His keyboardest on this CD, Jason Rebello is now on this shortlist. This CD is highly recommend.
