Free Music Notes for Mystery White BoyFree Music Review: Best JB album yet Hit: 5 Stars
I don't own any of the other live JB CD's, but I did buy this one and was floored, once again, by the incredible passion and beauty Jeff put into his music. His creativity, improvisation, and artistry are a testament to all artists, and the reworkings of classic songs -- as well as the handful of new ones -- are quite simply amazing. My one gripe was that "So Real" and "Lover, You Should've Come Over" were unfortunately not included, but the 78-minute running time makes up for this. I just regret never being able to actually see him perform live, though. Buy this CD if you're a JB fan -- it's worth every penny and more.
Free Music Review: One minute more....... Hit: 5 Stars
I hadn't listened to Jeff in awhile. After his death, it was too depressing to listen. His potential was limitless. I can't imagine being another act having to perform before or after him. I saw him open for Julianna Hatfield once and he annihilated the audience. When she came on, she apologized for having to follow him. Listening to this CD, I thought of the two performances I was lucky enough to see. I pity anyone who never got the chance. Jeff was transplendant. His death was probably the biggest musical tragedy of the past 20 years. If only we could have him back for a day. Or an hour. Buy this CD if only just for one minute more.......
Free Music Review: Better than the reviewers would have you believe.... Hit: 5 Stars

Dream Brother
Woke up in a Strange Place

What Will You Say?...and on & on the list goes. There's a couple of, dare I say, Dogs, but not many. If your new to Jeff's music &/or world, this is a good starting point. Looser but less encumbered (ie-overthought) than his two studio releases. What could have been?-Who knows. The giant money bag has been thrown at "his estate" so a movie is fourthcoming. Enjoy this disc now while he still remains "a mystery white boy".
Free Music Review: One of the best... Hit: 5 Stars
..live albums in a long, long time. Take my advice, listen to it on a long drive, preferably at night. You'll inevitably find yourself thinking about that one who isn't in your life anymore (whoever they may be), but it's the best way to take in all the gorgeous quiet moments (Hallelujah), the manic epiphanies (Eternal Life), the hysterical stage patter (telling a French audience "I eat much cheese!" in French) and above all that damned jaw droppingly beautiful, soul rending voice the man had. Easily as much of a revelation as "Otis Redding Live in Europe," and I can't make a recommendation any stronger than that.
Free Music Review: Best Live Album Out Hit: 5 Stars
This is the best live album I know of. It is one of the best albums period that I know of. Every song is captivating. At 78 or so minutes for 12 songs, each are epics. And you must listen to them all. I wish I could write more. I guess I'm not a very good music critc. All I know is I absolutely love 'Grace', so on the same day I bought 'Mystery White Boy' and 'Sketches for my Sweetheart the Drunk'. And both move me so deeply. You can feel the emotion dripping from each note. And I firmly believe, even if they don't buy it, everyone should hear either 'Grace' or 'Mystery White Boy' to hear what music really is.
