Free Music Notes for Sketches (For My Sweetheart the Drunk)Free Music Review: Addicted? Hit: 5 Stars
I recently had the honor of attending a Jeff Buckley Fan Tribute(Seattle,WA-EMP) hosted my Jeff's brilliant mother,Mary. It was a night I will never forgot. I have played "Grace" so many time, I am surprised it the has not melted in my cd player. I put off buying "Sketches" for many reasons. But after the tribute I finally bought it and I am truly addicted to this cd and also his live albums. The song,"Morning Theft" leaves me speechless. Ah,yes, what could have been...Thank god for Mary who continues to supply us fans with Jeff's great work. At the tribute she suggested to tell everyone out there to sign-up for mailing list on the Jeff Buckley website ...--more attention, more people--could possible lead the record company to release more of his work.
Free Music Review: beautiful to its core Hit: 5 Stars
When I heard this cd I didn't know whether to make love or cry. I had the urge to do both. This cd moved my soul. I felt I was going to implode from the heart. The feeling I had inside was so strong that it could have sucked everything else in. You may think I'm overreacting, but J. Buckley said himself that he didn't make his music for the magazines or the radios, he made it for the people who screamed his songs walking down the streets, people with wild souls. I heard Sketches before being introduced to Grace, and that blew my mind too. With Sketches I got a look at Buckley, rough and uncut. Then I got the finished look with Grace. Both cds are truly poetic. After I heard Sketches, I was told Buckley was dead and I felt I lost a part of myself with him.
Free Music Review: J'aime énormément Jeff Buckley Hit: 5 Stars
Free Music Review: TAURUS ATTRACTION Hit: 5 Stars
I discovered Jeff Buckley's music after his tragic death. I noticed all the news reports on his death, and all the sorrow his fans felt. So I was very curious what his music sounded like so I bought his newest release, Sketches. I swear that this album changed my life!!! I liked it from the moment I heard the first song. I already played it thousands of times, and spread his music to my friends. I would recommend Jeff Buckley to whoever is a true romantic, a lover of fine poetry, and who is interested in a little meloncholy. I do have to admit that Jeff Buckley was very handsome and that is what caught my attention, but above all a true genious who I wish I had the pleasure of seeing in concert. I will always be a fan until the day I die!
Free Music Review: Haven't you heard? Hit: 5 Stars
A fitting elegy. Sprawling, headstrong and completely beautiful. The first disc is an exceptional album that, amazingly, Buckley planned to dump. I really can't imagine not being able to hear and sing along to Opened Once (possibly the sweetest, saddest song I've heard) and Morning Theft (the second sweetest, saddest?). This disc is Jeff Buckley crystallized. A stomping Ths Sky Is A Landfill; the so-comfortably retro Witches Rave. The second disc is something you have to hear for yourself, sorry. The best terms to describe it are: a)frightening, b)awesome and c)highly inspirational. Murder Suicide... is what Thom Yorke was grasping for in Kid A's heartfelt best. Amazing. Singular.
